I've only seen clips of The Archie Show on UA-cam and I'm currently binge watching Riverdale on Netflix. They're totally different. Riverdale is a soap opera. The Archie Show is a funny kids cartoon.
So I just stumbled across this show...and I feel like it's trying to hard to be deep and edgy with characters who weren't meant to be deep and edgy you know??
Well, being asexual doesn't necessarily mean you aren't looking for a romantic partner...it just means you aren't looking for a sexual one. Asexualism refers to the lack of interest in sexual attraction, contact, or content. At least when it comes to me. But, like Cole said, it's something that rarely gets mentioned or represented, so it's kind of hard to explain to people due to that. So Jughead could very well be attracted to Betty, just not sexually.
CitrusEdits Also, just because it’s “not represented enough” doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be shown at all. In fact, it would actually be so helpful to that fact IF they actually represented it.
Didnt they say Judgehwad doesn't like girls beacuse of how they affect Archie. And how Archie acts around them so he has like a bad taste in his mouth cuz if his friends antics.

Asexual people can have romantic relationships, so Jughead's relationship with Betty doesn't make it impossible for him to still be asexual in the universe. I just hope they do address it, there's a lot of erasure and misunderstanding of asexuality and it would be nice to see an asexual main character (and hopefully a healthy relationship containing an ace person).
okay but in the comics jughead was asexual to the point where he just didnt like girls. And he would never have defintely stepped onto his best pals archies turf by kissing betty because they would date sometimes. and betty was totally in love with archie. so its a little werid
That's aromantic, which is often confused with asexuality for some reason (and obviously in Archie canon). I can see where it would be weird for a traditionally aromantic asexual character to suddenly start dating someone, especially if that someone is traditionally kind of in a relationship with their best friend. Though in the tv show universe Betty and Archie haven't dated, so the situation is a bit different. I personally like Betty and Jughead together, but I also haven't really read the comics so I also don't have that history with the characters to fall back on and I can see myself being annoyed if something similar happened in adaptations of any stories that I'm a big fan of

Jughead can still be asexual and be in a relationship with Betty. Asexuality just means you're not sexually attracted to someone and don't have a desire for sex, not that you can't have a romantic attraction or a healthy romantic relationship. Betty/Jughead is a great pairing and they definitely shouldn't break up (at least not permanently, because this is a CW show
