It makes me so happy to see a parent that supports their child sleeping as much as they need instead of giving them trouble for the hours they sleep -- or calling them lazy.
That's what I was thinking too. I was always shamed about sleeping in, even though I grew two inches one year.
Amanda Newman one year? I grew two inches basically at every year as a teenager. I'm still tired 😂
A lot of parents dont realise children NEED that extra sleep. Their bodies are working hard to grow and mature.
THIS. My grandparents were farmers so my whole dad's side of the family has the mentality that if you aren't awake by dawn, you're just lazy. As a teen dealing with depression and insomnia, it can be really damaging to hear my mental health struggles shrunk down to just laziness. I think more parents should be open minded in this way.

Omg I remember my mom yelling at me every weekend as a teenager for waking up at 10am (M-F I’d wake up at 4:50am for school), and seeing how accepting you are of Bailey sleeping as much as she needs is sooo precious to me! Maybe that’s why I’m short :( lol

I love how you respect your children’s emotions so much. When Parker was clearly emotional after coming home you didn’t make a huge deal and focus on his tears. This is so refreshing compared to other family channels. Thank you for respecting your kids ❤️
Yay for parents supporting a child sleeping longer during the growing years. In my own experience, the word lazy was thrown around a lot and I felt really guilty for sleeping so much but I also really couldn’t help it. Seeing all the positive comments makes me hope more people will be understanding of this

Everyone’s talking about Parker and like and I totally agree but Bailey warmed my heart! She was like come here and hugging her younger brothers. Not a lot of older siblings do that especially teenagers. 💓💖

Loved seeing Jess interacting with the older kids and not just sitting on the couch holding Luke. Hate to see Gris cooking even though he is still dizzy and not 100%. Praying he bounces back to normal soon. Love Bailey! She is such a great young woman the way she helps so much around the house.
Jeez Louise, she’s a mum of five kids in lockdown and breastfeeding. I know when my son was a newborn it took so much energy feeding him and getting up at night and like had special needs/health issues. She also hole schools the kids, and did so before lockdown, even though that’s not often filmed. She’s a freaking super woman. And if you’re here to mum shame, I suggest you’re watching the wrong channel. This is a positive community.
