Thanks for this. I've got a 1936 BSA B2, also total loss via a Pilgrim pump. It has no manual oil pump so after I drain the sump, I pump an amount of oil into the sump with an oil can and the bike tilted over. It's strange that refilling the sump isn't mentioned in the manual. I suppose a lot of these bikes ran low on oil until the Pilgrim pump slowly refilled the sump.
Thanks Mike, I've not used the mill for a while as I am currently rebuilding my old diesel Fergie tractor engine etc...... never done a diesel before and it's a real pain! Looking forward to spending some time in the woods over the winter soon, should keep me warm.
Nice old bike , What carb is that you have on there ? The original carb would have been Amac but the one you have looks like the later Amal unit , I am trying to restore the Model L 28 and don't have the Amac carb .
@@doctorvox Thank you , I will see what I can find , I now have an idea of what to look for . I think the original Amac carb for this lovely old bike was of the needless type but I am not sure on that fact . Anyway Thankyou so much
A lovely old machine. Lots to tinker with. Thank's

together well, interesting to see what all the levers do,is there a valve lifter?
Thanks, yes it does have an exhaust valve lifter, to stop the engine.

Yes it's a later Amal carb, not sure which one, 276? It was fitted when I got the bike, but works well.
