It seemed to me more like when it got hit, it just activated/triggered. As it did always list the camera-block at the bottom before switching back to orbit.
I think the big red Bloons straight up had a flak cannon. Makes sense, if there's gonna be more air battles then they would need to make ground-air combat better too.
@@tropicalvikingcreations if it were missiles, it would be more obvious. Rockets have a very different shape to bullets or shells. And the shots fired acted pretty much exactly like a flak cannon, shooting projectiles designed to explode NEAR the enemy rather than on contact. That's how anti-air guns take down aircraft, hitting them directly is too hard so they aim an explosive near where they are to get them with the shrapnel.
@@AXbcyz I'm not completely sure to be honest. I think the shells are designed to explode at a certain distance that an enemy plane is likely to fly, with some variance. Basically, they don't actually check the range, they just cover as large an area as possible in shrapnel. But I don't know for sure, if someone wants to fact check me then be my guest.
@@gengarisnotinsmash... While I'm not sure how the game is calculating when to detonate the shells (possibly just a set distance based on how far the target is), most flak shells in real life these days use a small Radar set for proximity fuses. Scrapman, you shouldn't just keep pressing the trigger down. Let the gun recharge before continuing the shooting. Those bullethell barrages are way more effective than shooting one bullet at a time even with the waiting periods.

27:18 I like how scrapman noticed there's a chest in his field of view, then the prompt for a new part comes up and he totaly forgets about the chestand goes for the power core.
My theory about the compass is that only the chests that are important to the DLC show up. For example: A chest that does not show up on the map gives something like a go-kart wheel. But a chest that does show up on the compass contains something like a balloon upgrade, or a thruster.
13:03 I've always wanted to build some kind of super suspension system that prevents the car from crashing into pieces from landing a high speed stunt jump. But I haven't succeeded so far. Scrapman once did a glider-car multiplayer episode which did a similar thing, but it's more of a glider with wheels rather than a car. The new air control surface blocks may become handy for this goal. Maybe this challenge can be a topic for a future video.
sad to see the baloons have no default "neutral boyance" options that wouldve been nice to have, where it just takes all the balloons with the setting and the vehicle weight into consideration to make the vehicle perfectly neutral
I don't think it would be too hard to do with speed of altitude sensors. Just balance at an altitude you want or have it to where the speed up or down is near nothing.
Might be a bit hard to code though and like not just have basically a cheat or glitch I guess you could say where you only need 1 balloon I know it’s not probable but another thing it would probably decrease the game speed a good bit as well with the game having to constantly calculate but the guy makes a good point that you can just do it yourself:)

4:34 lowering the gas mixture lowers the maximum lift that your balloons will give you. It will keep the airship from rising too quickly at full inflation, which I guess was done because it's beneficial to new players.
to answer your question on how the sheep get around on the floating islands I came up with some game lore: the common sky sheep can be found on grassy islands in the sky they navigate by lowering the density of their bodies until they are lighter then the air around them, an extremely useful adaptation for the common sky sheep. also i wonder how the balloons react when inflated underwater?
Btw scrap dude the reason the coldown didnt start was becuz if you stop it count as the regular repair but while moving it does the transformation repair with starts the coldown
Man, I seriously can't wait to play with this update's new blocks and update all my old creations, even just the new weapons alone are gonna add so much more variety
Yeah the not inflating with out a button is a know bug. For people how worry, you can turn out aim of Pro tip for ground vehicles, put guns on hinges/servo's
for what i noticed about the repairing. its seams to have no cooldown when on the ground and not in motion like how it was before this update. however it will have a cool down when in the air and/or moving. for instance being in the air but stationary like how you are sometimes in this vid, youll have a cooldown. or like how you were driving when chasing the speeder you couldnt but when you flipped or stopped momentarily your repair recharged instantly.
Make a bus, a land and air bus, with like 10 passenger seats. And as time goes on make it bigger and bigger. You could also eventually make a sky tram with the trailer hinges.
About the autolock, you can also make custom flares so that if someone has a locked rocket on you then you can drop the flare and itl go after the flare, but it may be that it goes after the seat and that it wont work, a custom flare, but we will have to find out
The explosive ammunition the blimps are firing I think are actually flak ammunition, it explodes near aircraft and obscured their views, if the aircraft got caught in the explosion- well it gets hit with both shrapnel and getting knocked in the other way the explosive hit them.. *The more you know.*
If you configure the engine, you can turn off your front wheels and eliminate that oversteer. I set steering angles at 30 as well. Seems to help a lot especially in higher speeds.
the red balloons seem to be using the flak cannons. and the issue of your camera changing constantly could be due to having a camera block on your creation. and when it gets detroyed. it changes something? (just a concept). and i THINK the repair cooldown only activates when you repair from damage alone from an enemy, you'll notice that when you flipped upside down, it refunded your cooldown so you could flip back over.. i think the devs were trying to have a bit of mercy with it in case you flipped in combat
I wish you would make a dedicated vehicle for different things because watching you struggle is still fun, but less than optimal. One assault vehicle, maybe a truck instead of an airship to save power cores. And then load it down with guns. The transport ship works pretty good but you know at some point they're going to ask you to take 20 chirpos across the map. And you need a fast exploration vehicle, like a plane or jet.
move the minigun on the bottom add a rotating servo to connect it to the airship give the airship suspension landing gear you should be good to go to have a near omnidirectional cannon that can light up anyone around you + the autoaim
After trying out a MM dogfight, maybe try out a new mm idea? Day 136 of asking for a Multiplayer Monday in survival mode where everyone starts at the crashed ship with a craftbot in the mechanic station. Everyone has 30 minutes to build a vehicle from scratch, gathering their own materials. No glitches, thrusters allowed, after which everyone meets up and races their builds
IMO, next upgrade needed is a turret, so you can point the gun in any general direction you want, thus compensating for the minigun's narrow auto aim range.
I find it funny that this update releases close to Tears of the Kingdom, another game where you can build vehicles and there are floating islands (and a race of anthropomorphic birds)
I think that camera bug is because the attached camera at the bottom might be getting destroyed, resetting your camera mode.
