Man helikon tex make some great pants, if only the front pockets actually worked as actual pockets, on the pants I have the openings are so tight and the pockets are so tight that you can't really use them comfortably. Great materials and design if it weren't for that one issue
Im excited, coz I want to buy one
I hope this content helps
Hey mate , I’ve just bought a pair of these and they are fantastic! With regards to the inside small pockets on the back I don’t have anything suitable to try and place inside but I did measure them and can confirm that the left hand one is 55mm from stitching to stitching and the right hand one is 50mm so must be the norm.
Cheers
Oh cool, thanks for checking. Maybe one is for a knife and the other is a mag pocket. Or maybe I'm wrong and they're tactical Mars bar pockets 🤣
@@MoorlanderEDC 🤣
Fantastic review, as always, a lighthouse in my decisions. Thanks for your videos, greetings from Spain
You're more than welcome my friend. Always great to hear it's appreciated. Have an awesome week
Honestly i was on the fence on buying them or not, thanks for the awesome review man they're on their way too me right now in Pencott Badlands!! Thanks!
You're more than welcome my friend. They're definitely an awesome pair of pants. The Badlands version look bad ass too. If you're ok with it, I'd love to hear your thoughts when yours arrive. Have a top weeekend
Normal UTPs has no mesh pockets. I've got Canvas cotton and RipStop polycotton version. Only Flex UTP and OTP has Mesh pockets. OTP unfortunately is made from Versastretch and is noisy when walking.
Pocket on the knee for comfort pads is crap, in Trekking Tactical Pants design of this is way more easier
Thanks for the pockets heads up Kuba. I was looking at the Minstral which I think is full VersaStretch. I imagine that makes some noise too 🤔
Evening pal. Nice review. They look great in the Multicam. Would have loved to have seen a moorlandese pigeon on camera. I hear the originate from the pterodactyl…
I thought it was an Eagle at first swooping down to kill the wind cover on my mic. I though I should check my pockets just in case it wanted my lunch money 💰😂
Yup, the ultimate UTP's ;) Well, currently I cannot wait to see Helikon releasing their MCDU pants from patrol line.
I spotted a few pieces at IWA that they haven't released yet. There's some cool gear out hopefully before Christmas. Hope you're well buddy and out adventuring this weekend
@@MoorlanderEDC I will be with my brand new backpack. Do you remember my Helikon Summit Review? Well, this budy is no more a part of my equipment ;)
I'm a little bit wary of velcro fasten trousers. Last set I had the velcro worn down pretty rapid probably due to excessive pressure from a growing waist line ! Currently swear by UFPro trousers for outdoor use though.
Hey Duane. That's one of the worries I had. I appreciate a button can fail in 'the field' however I'm sure there's a work around. UF Pro as top of my pants list with Carinthia
🤣🤣🤣 I like your thinking
as someone who lives in texas most of the reviewers are in colder countries. would be very useful for us who live in extreme heat if you mentioned what temps you could comfortably wear these. thank you
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I have a lot of Us viewers, many from Texas too. This is definitely something that's popped up and something that I'm definitely trying to talk about more. Certainly my most recent prices of content I mention temperatures. Summer temps here get to 24-26c. These are still comfortable. It's close to too hot for me. I know some US friends in your area have mentioned they're too warm for your climates in the summer, great for the winter temperatures. I hope that helps
@@MoorlanderEDC Hello mate, did you use this pants during winter in the UK? I am considering to get them for photo hikes. Have 2 Mountain Equipment pants but the pockets are quite small and not ready for knee pads/inserts. Regards from GER. Cheers.
Very cool vid brother nice pants by the way 😂😂😉
Thanks Alex. Stay well buddy
Interesting but I personaly do not like to wear too much camo 'things' in normal life so nope for EDC (except some shirts more hunting colors than 'fighting camos')
Hey Raphael, if I wasn't trying to work my way through the whole Helikon colour spectrum I would have chosen a more 'nirmal' colour 🤣
I thought the addition of the mag pockets in front were a good idea, but not in moving the actual cargo pocket to the back of the leg. That just ruins it. Good ideas but I’m not a fan of the implementation. I just want a good pair of pants for under $300-400. Sadly for whatever reason no one will dare try to seriously compete with crye or uf pro but at a lower price point.
Very true. Crye and UF Pro are high tier pants which make them out of a lot of people's league. I might pick some up in the future though. Hope you're well my friend and having a great week
Does bad stuff from Helikon even exist ?
I'm certainly dedicated to testing everything to find out 😂
@@MoorlanderEDC sure dude go ahead ! Imma watch that for sure !
U should take a look at some stuff from Carinthia like the Mig 4.0 u would like that bad boy
Did you know that helikon just has one guy who creates all the designs 🤯😊
The utp is soooo good .. but also is the cpu and the jeans and the bags and pouches... xD i recently bought the documents pouch from them.. great little pouch for edc gear.. and it even fits my handmade X-Pac wallet pouch :)
Carinthia and UF Pro as next on my list for sure
Hi. I don't know which one to choose. The Helikon utp pants or the Invader gear revenger tdu pants are of better quality (color fastness, material)? Clawgear Raidek MK IV pants is expensive for me now.
Hmmmm... I have tried either of those SJ. I'll add them to my list of pants to check
What are the UTP and UTP Flex like with regards to noise? I have the OTP ones which are just nylon and elastane, and they are VERY noisy and swishy. The UTP ones on the other hand are both cotton blends, polycotton for UTP standard and NyCo for UTP Flex. How do they compare for noise levels?
Hi LorneLorne, the noise is definitely less than the some of the other pants, however, it's not whisper silent 😃 I've never really thought about the noise levels as a comparison. I'd say they're not louder than a pair of work trousers or heavy jeans with a thick/heavy denim. When you're out walking and chatting with a buddy you can't really hear them, although if you stop talking to listen for them you can hear them. I wear them playing airsoft aswell and haven't had any issues. I hope that helps
Thanks for getting back to me. That's helpful!
Nah then, ey up me duck. Reckon I might get a pair of these.
Regarding the two narrow rear pockets. They remind me of the knife pocket in my Fjallravens but obviously without the press stud so i don't think they're for magazines, I reckon they're knife pockets. Anyroad, great review me owd cocka... but please no more Dad dancing. 🤣🤣😉 *Formerly GTR
Hey fella. I pinky promise to keep the dad dancing to a minimum... Maybe a once a year event. I think they're definitely for pistol mags, but the one on the right hip isn't don't right. Which Fjallraven pants do you have? Always interested in future content.
@@MoorlanderEDC
I've got the standard Vidda Pro and also the Vidda Pro Ventilated.
The ventilated are a slightly more tighter fit (look better in my opinion) have an elasticated gusset panel and zippered leg vents.
@@Adventures_with_Sog cheers fella, I'll make a note 👍
are they ok to use'em in the woods?
Yes, however you need permission first 😆 They're the Strictly Urban (however sometimes Woods) Tactical Pants but SUHSWTP didn't sound as catchy 🖖
What size are you wearing? Are they XL or L? Best regards!
These are a 36"waist which is an EU XL or a US Large
@@MoorlanderEDC is the fit the same as the MCDU pants? Because I saw that you sized down on MCDU.
@@fantas84 ha ha ha... Unfortunately I got my size wrong with the MCDU pants 🤣 I thought 36" was a large. Completely forgot it was an XL. Luckily I'm more like a 35" waist and the MCDU pants have some stretch in them. I've found with Helikon-Tex, generally all of their pants wear the same at the same size
hahah alright, I might gonna get the XL then 🤣Thank you very much! Love your videos! @@MoorlanderEDC
@@fantas84 always happy to help my friend 🤜🤛
Hello. My sizes:
Waist: 96-98cm
Height:190cm
which of these pants would be good for me?
Large Long or XLarge Long?
Hi John. I think by memory that's an XL however I'd definitely check their website. I find their measurements and fitting to be pretty close to what they say they are 🤘 hope that helps buddy
@@MoorlanderEDC Thank You.
Hey man . What's the belt you got in the video?
Hi Boddy. I had to watch it back to check 😅 That's a tactical belt from Kore Belts. They're amazing belts from the US and I made some content on this belt a few months back - ua-cam.com/video/oPdUgzwzToM/v-deo.html
Hope that helps buddy
