    I have used my basic fur over a year and love it, it isn't hugely warm for up north nights sometimes, so bring it as add on or have another clothing or hot water bottle.
    As for packing, tents I stuff, tarps I fold.

    Great review, always informative.
    A swagman (also called a swaggie, sundowner or tussocker) was a transient labourer who traveled by foot from farm to farm carrying his belongings in a swag. The term originated in Australia in the 19th century and was later used in New Zealand.

    Get the expensive one!
    I've had mine a few years, in coyote, and it's been perfect for camping.
    Multi use as blanket, jacket and sleeping bag in summer. In autumn it's my dog's blanket when I bring my proper sleeping bag.
    It's been used more than I thought it would be when I first bought it, so money well spent.
    Same for the waterproof poncho that goes with it, another multi use item, groundsheet or rain jacket, emergency tarp.
    I'd recommend buying both at the same time.

      With the poncho it's a killer combo. The two of them take up next to no room

    Maybe I missed it , but the swagman roll is water repellant and the basic is not. I love mine it saves the amount of kit I have to haul when bush crafting in the minimalist style.

    Hello, I have been involved in online shopping abroad in the past two years. I would like to know if there are any Black Friday discounts at helikon tex or any large-scale festivals in Europe that you can share. Thank you very much. I watched the video you introduced and bought some of the products you introduced from a seller in my country. The products are great and I like them very much. However, there are still many styles that I need to look for on the Helikon tex official website or European online stores. If possible, I still hope to buy them. Save some money. I like tiger stripe very much. I saw the new camouflage pencott after watching your video. This camouflage is really awesome. I live in a subtropical country. Wearing pencott into the jungle will make me blend into nature and become invisible. 😂

    Nice camparison
    Was not really a choice for me, I preferred to go to the 'normal/premium' Swagman ^^
    ... 'but' I would like some upgrades (in conjunction with the poncho) => an upgrade with a larger edition to have a better spring/summer sleep system (I am not a big man but I feel a lil too tight into it for my taste, it is ok for me but would like lil more room)

    Good review, my man.
    I have two Swagmans myself; the DNC, which you're sporting, plus the more normie-friendly Aqua version. They're not bad, but they're not as warm as I thought they might be. In fact, I'd say my Saltrock festival insulated poncho is warmer, though it's not packable. Still the Helikon product is superior to the USGI woobie which I've also got.

    Looks like a decent bit of kit. Is there a particular poncho that these are designed to work with?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  2 місяці тому +1

      Integration with Helikon-Tex's poncho is seemless. After that, I'm reasonably sure they'll work with them all, however, it's definitely something I'm looking into for more content. From a quick scout around, most seem to be around 2 x 1.4m so they'll pretty much under anything. They only difference might be slight differences in size if you're using the toggles to connect to the poncho itself

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  Місяць тому

      If you doubled them up you'd definitely be able to go to lower temperatures for sure. I'd use the basic one on the outside and have the DNC version on the inside. I think that would be the best combo

    How do you find the length and width of them in sleeping bag mode? Ive seen quite a few people online wishing for a larger version.
    Im 6'2" and 200lbs so its hard finding a summer bag that is long enough to fit me without feeling clausterphobic like Im sliding into a snake skin tube

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  2 місяці тому +1

      It would be amazing to have more room. I'd be lying if I said otherwise. I'm 5'10" and about 210lbs. I fit in with both of my arms around my side and there's still room. Granted, I am only wearing a tshirt. I can full the zip up just over my head as the max length is roughly 2m or 6'5" (but you do lose a wee bit of length as it curls around my feet and belly). I'm guessing Helikon-Tex as fits to how large they can make it due to the pretty standard size of ponchos. They could easily make a larger poncho and liner with an extra 3 or 4" in each direction. It's just how many people would buy them
      Hope that helps buddy

    It’s a stuff sack not a roll sack. People who roll first are the same type of wrong as the cretins that nibble all the chocolate off there Snickers the eat the inside! They should be in the jail for such behaviour. Just my humble opinion that is 100% correct. 😊
