      Yeah man I always enjoy a good story about an aircraft and its pilot. For me it makes it that little bit better when collecting a model. Its always easy to forget that there were people in these awesome looking machines and many of whom would never make it home. Thanks as always for dropping past 👍

    Thats a big one...even in 1/72.....love when they do a model of an aircraft with a story behind it.👍👍

      So do I. To be honest most aircraft, especially WW1 and WW2 usually always do. But most manufacturers don't really say much about it. It's why I try to research each aircraft and hopefully find out info on the pilot and make sure I mention that in the video. I feel at least then there story has a chance to be remembered. A lot of people look at a model not knowing anything about it, just that it looks cool. Hopefully my videos help a little in honoring them in a little way. 😀

      @@heavymetaldiecast i have a funny story about an Irish pilot t(Ronald McPartland) that ejected from a Vampire T-11 after it got into a stall.

    Extraordinary story, and a beautiful bird along with it.

      Certainly was a crazy feat of bravery. And the man himself seemed so humble in the footage. Was a nice model too, although my propellers did not spin as freely as normal Corgi ones. But oh well, i dont sit there spinning them anyway....I haven't got that bad yet 🤣

      @@heavymetaldiecast I noted the lack of waist guns and only two, not four, in the tail turret. I wonder if they were trying to make the plane lighter? 🤔

    • @heavymetaldiecast
      @heavymetaldiecast  8 місяців тому +1

      @@shinra2755 Yes the area is covered over where the waist guns would normally operate from. I noticed that on photos of real early Mk.I's. The 4 gun rear turret would come in later variants, I think the Mk.III. 😁😁👍

      If you can check out the Corgi Bristol Beaufort- a superb model - one of the finest and flown by Kenneth Campbell who was awarded the VC also for his attack on the Geneisenau; sadly he too failed to return. Great model with an emotional story of superb heroism to go with it. @@heavymetaldiecast
