The problem with these bosses is that they don’t feel good to attack. No reception. That why ship combat feels good, it’s not the fact that you loaded the cannon and shot it, it’s that feeling when it hits the boat and wood goes lying everywhere... Epic!
now i'm not against you, this is a serious question: what do you mean by reception? Should the enemies go like "Agh"?
yeh, not having health bars in this game rly makes me doubt my combat abilities, untill they eventually die - when i get a sigh of relief :P
@@garlicgoat259 they should hit back harder. The ghost dude and the gold hoarder were down right pathetic compared to the other tall tale bosses.
@@garlicgoat259 Just some kind of reaction. For example, with the Kraken when I played it my had no idea if we were actually hurting it because it kept going through the same animations regardless if it was hit or not. A quick little recoil or something to let you know "Yes keep blasting this thing in the face" goes a long way.

These tall tales have some really cool boss fights, each one unique to itself and nothing else like it in game.
Whoever did the voice acting for the siren queen did an amazing job for her voice
This game is really come a hell of a ways since its release. It’s all epic and intense now
From sitting in chairs to fighting monsters who shave their heads(could not think of a better rhyme sry)
Not sure i liked how Davy was written in this, he seemed more like a resting of flameheart than Davy. Apart from that it was great
I don't really see that, his whole motivation is to get rid of the ferryman so the players can't life forever, seems pretty Davy to me

@@arturoayala1004 I don't know, Barbosa sent him to get Jack not to kill him, but to get the treasure to return to the land of the living. Now he's trapped there forever.

@@Mapbim I don't mind the SoT design. It just feels like a missed opportunity to not use the Kraken from the movies. I like the Sea of Thieves artstyle for the PotC and the movie Kraken would look amazing in it.

As well to have to fight Davy Jones himself into a sword to sword (or gun, or trident) on board of the Flying Dutchman....
Well.. the sot kraken was in the game well before the potc tall tales, so it only makes sense they use the same kraken. Or else change it completely
I think that a better boss would be where you still fight the SoT Kraken but once you defeat it, it appears again to try and kill you but the PotC Kraken comes and kills it, as ordered by Davy Jones. Then in the final battle, it takes place in a whirlpool and the Kraken tries to attack your ship and if you reach the center of the whirlpool it kills you and your ship. It would make the final battle more challenging and fun. Imagine a mashup of Davy Jones’ theme and the Kraken’s theme.

I'm gutted we didn't face off with Davy face to face. There was also zero reward for actually finishing the tales. 8000 gold is poor

@@samlee93 you can look at every commendation and reward for every tall tale. for the first 4, you get some items like cannons, cutlass or capstan. for completing all commendations for all 5 tales, you get “Yo ho, a pirates life for me” as a new shanty for your instruments

I played this and did the Flying Dutchman boss fight I beat it
i died as soon as the gold hoarder died so when i spawned in and jack upside down i thought they did diferent endings
Nice the kraken shows his face and we get to kill the gold hoarder again
player: snipes crab with shotgun, crab dies immediately | jack: bonks repeatedly with foot about 30 times and crab throws himself off with no apparent injuries
I fought davy jones alone on a sloop.... I had to kill around 30 of those ghost ships, destroy the statues, and repair my ship with every scrap of wood I could find... since I suck with the harpoon I had to jump off my ship to get supplies from the ghost ships and even then I still ran low... I used at least 7 of those supply crates and on top of that I had to fight a handful of those eel and clam bastard that jumped onto my ship.... by the end of it all... my mast had been broken and repaired, every breakable part of my ship had been broken and repaired including my wheel and capstan.... the only reason I was even able to defeat davy jones was because the good guy fleet did most of the work and I got some lucky shots..... moral of the story: dont fight davy jones in a sloop... at least not alone!

It's really disappointing how Gold Hoarder doesn't have any of his battle callouts in this one. I absolutely adored hearing him growl threats for the duration of the Shores of Gold fight. When personality is the only thing that separates bosses (Briggsy, Graymarrow, Gold Hoarder,) it's important to show that personality in some major way or else the fights become stale. Clearly, this wasn't an issue with Pirate's Life. But would it have been too much to ask for an update to the Gold Hoarder fight to make him a unique foe?
It's because his mind is even more faded than it was before, notice how during the dark brethren meeting he had longer pauses. It's because they are displaying how much of his mind he has lost.

I really didn't like how Wild rose gave her pendant to Jack after we literally got it and reunited her with her love and I dislike how some of the characters from sea of thieves join Jacks crew
Dont wory, now that rare is working with disney, and jack clearly said that they will be back, its highly possible that we'll be seing them more in the future

I came to see if rare had learned how to make fun bosses for SOT and it looks a lot better than before but I still see one copy pasted add spawner that does bs aoe and has a ridiculous amount of health depending on your crew size which is just BAD DESIGN. I'm conflicted whether I should try and convince my friends to play again because they all hate this one shitty boss that we already fought against like 3 times and everytime it just took like 30 minutes of constant bs.

they released a huge update with heaps of new enemies and mechanics and you're really complaining about this lol
