hey daniel thx for the question.. i have a course on a youtube playlist where i cover hearing chords.. but a song like this is particularly tough cause of the alternate tuning. you just have to start with basic songs then work your way up.. I van definitely say that it’s not natural, it’s a skill that can be acquired if you have some musical sense which most people do. Cheers!
When tuning from both a tuning app and a dgx 640, for some reason all 6 strings come across a bit high compared to what you're playing here - I can follow along still but I can't quite figure out what's happening as far as the tuning goes, it's like a quarter step too high on my tuners - what do you use for tuning? I absolutely love your tutorials and I'd love to be able to just listen to them as reference but the tuning makes it really hard.

I might have not tuned to accurately. Maybe compensate by setting your A pitch to like 437 instead of 440?
