His claim to fame is as a prosecutor in federal court where most defendants plead guilty and it is just a matter of working out the details. An expert witness typically would be providing some sort of counter argument to forensic/scientific evidence. The only thing I can think of in this case is some sort of "expert" who will challenge some of the narrative, or offer an alternative narrative, around the call logs and timeline or relevance of texts/emails/etc. Or perhaps an "expert" in accounting principles who will claim that what was done with the invoicing/payment and categorization of the charges was "normal business practice".
