its respectable how true and committed he is to art and expression instead of aiming for industry dominance, honestly if he had gone that route i think he could be in a place now where Jack Antonoff is, creating hits for popstars both commercial and alternative
Such timing! I’ve been asking myself that very question the last few weeks. Although, knowing how dedicated he was to his art, and appeared visibly uncomfortable with the intense public reaction to STIUTK, the attention, the awards, etc, etc, it has really come as no surprise that he ended up shrinking away from the spotlight, likely having jam sessions in his friends’ backyards...
The mistake is to measure Wally's music and artistry with what the American market wants and that it bubble gum pop/rock music that will be forgotten. Wally is a genius and he has never cared about fame. He loves making music and he loves The Basics members. So he will probably make music with them until they can't anymore.
@@jonnyharvey The volume is completely fine. Perhaps it's a personal preference since I have ADHD, and any background noise just makes it harder for me to concentrate on the voiceover. Also the background music makes it sound like it's an infomercial or a celebrity gossip video. I checked the kind of videos you post and subscribed and felt it's not gossipy type of content. So I think a little bit of background music at the start and end is fine.
He is skipping in a frosty tundra of barely alive daisies with James Blunt, somewhere. Beck and Chris Martin silently smile at each other and cling their tea cups together watching their offspring play among the wild flora.

you're probably right - he doesn't seem to think like that at all though.
I'm glad he's still doing something he loves, making music.
Yeah he's clearly really talented - nice to see he's still in the music game

perfect timing 😀😀
Now he's just somebody that we used to know
🎶 Somebody🎶
The bloopers at the end always have me in stitches hahaha
Oh good to hear 😀😀
I randomly thought about this guy, thank you for making this video ❤
😃😃
Loved this Jonny!

Thank you soo much for this!!! I adore kimbra, and always wondered what happened to them both!!

@@jonnyharvey😊

Making Mirrors is such a fantastic album

@@jonnyharvey Bronte and State of The Art being the best two songs IMO

Somebody I used to not know.
Indeed
Always preferred “Hearts A Mess”. Like a futurist Sting.
I don’t know that one - will have to give it a listen
Just a small tip, the background music is kind of distracting. I think your commentary trumps any need for a background music.
thanks for the feedback - it sounded fine, when I listened back. But maybe I left it too loud this time?

How did you turn Gotye into Goytyey 😭😭😭
I thought I pronounced reasonably well. Apologies if I got it wrong. It is a French name & he just spells it his own way
If it's his version of the name Gautier, the French pronounce it more like Goatyeh. That isn't perfect either, but I hope it's a little closer.
Where can I find his music?
Spotify
45% of royalties!! I guess it really does pay to be original
He didn’t have to stoop so low
😂😂

What? This song is from 2012? I thought it was like from 1998 or something
Nope definitely 2011, or 2012. Funny I feel like it was from 4 years ago.
and if you thought
and if you thought
and if you thought
🤣
😀😀
@@jonnyharvey that was fun!
Who cares?
He’s not really worthy of a video.
Then why are you watching?
@Patrick3183 I hope you recover from this viewing experience.
thanks for the feedback- it's good to hear what people think either way
10k views meaning 10k people thought it was a worthy video... Move along
