  • Why am I removing the engine and gearbox from my Supercharged BMW E46 325Ci? Because it is easier to install my new upgrades with the engine and gearbox out 😀🔧.
I will outline what I am installing and the reasons why, and I have a really tight timeline to get these upgrades done.

Wonderful to have you back on the E46, as mentioned before I am following your example and applying some of your hints and developments to my E46 320Ci ,which will be my street machine and weekend cruiser. At the moment removing my under 200K (191k) engine is not just yet on the plans, but as I watch your progress the prospect might just be what will happen. Once again thank you for taking the time to entertain and educate us all. TTFN?

I love this project, I also have an e46 320ci and I can't wait to see your other videos about it.

Being from the U.K. (rhd) I’m Definetely interested in the headers bud! Also the 3L intake manifold and throttle will mostly improve throttle response, ideally an m50b25 manifold would be best for gains and tidies up all the emissions stuff too. Great to see you going this far into the build, keep it up Michael ! 😊

M50 manifold swap is sort of a myth on m54s, the b30 manifold is very good and much better engineered, you get to keep disa too. To get max gains from m50 manifold you need to port match the head and even then I'm not sure it's worthwhile

      @@LochyP there’s a dyno proven
Thread on it. You lose a
Little low end torque for high end gains. I suppose it depends on what Mike has in mind

    I have a question.
I want to get a E46 330ci which has around 100k miles and says it’s had fairly good services etc, I’m wondering if I should get it. I currently drive 300 miles a week and I’m curious if the car will be reliable enough for all these miles I do.
Would like to hear some opinions :)

Very vague question bud, it depends on what sort of drivers have owned it before and what servicing has been like. I’ve seen them in all sort of condition. If it’s been well looked after then it should be solid but you can only really take the previous owners word for it which isn’t gospel. Mine had done around 90,000 miles and I’ve put 30,000 miles on it getting kicked up and down country lanes most days and not a single thing has broken on it in the 4/5 years I’ve had it. But then I know of ones that break down almost weekly. It is pot luck, but that’s the same for any second hand car really. Maintenance is the key here. If you sense something going wrong fix it asap, otherwise you’ll get a domino affect with one problem causing several other problems.

It absolutely is pot luck. My 330ci spends more time off the road than on it, but that's because I can't afford to pay a mechanic so need to use the driveway when it's not raining

@@IMTHATELDER thanks dude, yea I mean it’s same principle with any car so long as you look after it (maintenance) then with a bit of luck shouldn’t be any issues. I think I’ll get it anyways as it’s one of my dream attainable cars so I wanna experience the car and ownership of such a legendary car :)
