The Impressions sound basically the same here in 1988 as they did 25 years before during their heyday in 1963. Massively talented singing group. This clip reflects a wonderful show.
What memories. Wanda and I were getting ready to transfer to Louisiana for my last 2 years befor retirement. We thought we needed to go to Raleigh for a fix that we hoped would last us. And it did.
Jackie is a great singer, but it stops at that. Craig Woolard, on the othe other hand, is not only the better vocalist, range wise, but he is also and entertainer unlike just standing there singing like like a 1st grader stick man. Not pointing figures but unless you are entertaining, people might as well stay home and listen to CD's or whatever format. I personally wish they'd bring back floor shows.
Earl Dawkins and the Entertainers at 54:05, and Dink Perry and The Breeze Band at 1:42:15. The Shagtime Band at 2:56:59 and the Band of Oz at 8:01. I assume that's Big John Thompson on lead.

Many great entertainers come from the Raleigh metro area. Must be something in the water.
This is really good. Jackie Gore and the Embers on at 3:14:30 and 3:42:48 and Jimmy V at 30:35
