Yep! In theory, that absolutely should work! Just make sure you take the fish to the same internal temperature: 145 F. The salmon is classic, but an easy substitute would be trout or whitefish! -Chef Britt

Have no idea why the word pastrami was ever mentioned other than for cheap click bait heat because this was just a wet cure smoked salmon recipe and bagel making post. One last thing is I despise people who do cooking videos who wear rings because that is a kind of gross and B a good way to loose your jewelry
