Multiple small towns around me. I'm talking 4 small towns with 1 main street and a church in each. In any of them if I don't wave at every car it will somehow get back to my family that I was rude. I get people coming up and saying how much I grew and I don't even know them. This song is so true!

My mom was from a small town in Indiana, it has since grown due to the lakeside summer homes and resorts. She married a military officer, so we moved around, but when she died she wanted to be buried in the cemetery near her mom and dad. The day we drove from the service to the cemetery every single on coming car pulled over and let our procession pass. Some even got out of their car out of respect. I was floored! I had never in my life seen such community and love. I cannot remember much of my mom's funeral, but I remember being in the car with my husband and two little boys completely humbled by the people of Indiana. They showed me who I want to be.
BTW, two months later I was back home driving on a busy highway near a big city in California, and I got passed up by a hearse going faster than 75 mph. I don't think it was a procession, but they were flying. We don't live in California any more!!!
Yes that's smartest thing you did moving out of California I've always lived in small town and I would go on the truck with my mom we went to California it looked like a rat race no thanks I like the simple life

This song reminds me of my Grandpa. We live in a tiny town in TN. He was the towns first cop, ran for Alderman, and went into Germany after WWII. He was famous around here. When I was little he would take me to feed goats. He used to work for RC and had a shop in the backyard where I would sit and he would drink beer and he'd tell me stories. He died a few years back. I miss him. I listen to this song in memory of Maxie Dickens. I love you Grandpa.

This song makes me so happy. Not only because it's true but because I live in the town where some of video was shot. And I went to the school shown in here too. Seeing little bits and pieces of my town in her video almost brings tears to my eyes. I love my little town of Shelbyville TN. And I wouldnt of wanted to grow up anywhere else.

So I live in a town probably not even a mile wide in Pennsylvania and this song hits it hard. I love it because I know the names of all the people in the town and everybody cares and they all have stories and it proves that you dont need money to have a good life

I'm from a small town with a 1,099 population and believe me everyone know absolutely Everyone!!! there ain't no news that no body wouldn't know about and most of the time there are no secrets. we help out our neighbors anytime they need it. and its always a blessing to grow up in a small town because you learn things that people who live in cities don't learn. I LOVE living in my small town. the way i was raised i really think that how living should be.

Im 70 and I live in a small town , not one red light until you get to the interstate, there's only one road to get to this town, the only other way is by boat coming up the river. We have a lake and a river, wildlife, pickup trucks cows and horses, gardens cabins and peace and quiet, it's a nice place to live. I thank God I love here.

History runs deep in small towns. My high school was one of the oldest high schools in the state. Everyone literally knew everyone in my parents day. Still had that feel back in '98 when I went even though it was much larger. So many memories and so much history. 😁. Kid Rocks "First Kiss" and Jason Micheal Carrol's " Where I'm from" Give me similar feels to this song. A few others as well.

Miranda is Soo ON POINT in this song!!! I recently moved to a rural area town where people scrutinize the smallest details of your life. I came there from a large bustling metropolitan-area suburb where nobody cared who you were. In the country EVERYONE is either biologically related to "SOMEBODY" else or through friendship, so you have to be careful about who you talk about or get into disagreements with because chances are you won't be battling with just one individual anymore. Lol. And everyone you meet REMEMBERS meeting you and your name, what you did when you were with them and finds out things from others quickly. It got to the point when my friends and I would go out we gave fake names! Lol. But people just care here. The gossiping and nosiness into your affairs is just their way of showing that you matter and are an important part of the community. Unlike Hollywood fame that is short-lived and fleeting, based on the changing whims of flaky fans who really don't know who you are and never get close to you, You will ALWAYS be famous till the day you die in a small town in the country!!

Growing up in a small town (population about 20,000), is a double edged sword. My town is big enough that I don't know everyone, but, I know someone that knows someone else. I've live here my whole life (51 years and counting), and I'll die here too. I know people that have left only to come back, people that have left and will never come back, and people that have moved here from big cities that absolutly love living here. Sure, we don't have all of the conveniences of a major city. What we do have is a community. I LOVE my small town!
