Automatic Folding Running Boards. The Amp Research PowerStep Running Boards will provide a wider and larger platform so you and your passengers can step in and out of your F-150 with ease. But unlike heavy and bulky running boards, this kit is equipped with an idler and motor linkage assembly that will automatically deploy and lower the running boards once you open the doors in your truck. The steps will detract cleanly up and out of sight once the door has closed with the extra ability of being manually deployed if you need to access the roof. Each running board has a 600 lbs. load capacity.
Made in the USA. The Amp Research PowerStep Running Boards are proudly made in the USA! Constructed from military-spec extruded aluminum steps and die cast aluminum components, the running boards are designed to last the life of your truck. The lightweight materials are 20% lighter than non-folding running boards. The steps are finished in a textured black powder coat for superior all-weather resistance to rust and corrosion. This kit is backed by an awesome 5-year or 60,000-mile warranty.
Professional Installation. The Amp Research PowerStep Running Boards are a direct bolt-on upgrade for your 2009-2014 Ford F-150 including the RegularCab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew models. The running boards are equipped with frame-mounted brackets for a quick and hassle-free installation. There is a bit of wiring and splicing involved to power the motor linkage and idler linkage assembly. Professional installation is highly recommended.

Best mod I made on my truck. These steps are epic and I was able to install them solo in my garage.

Taking up the access port for just the step? Has to be other options

Mine won’t go all the way up on passenger side so I guess there are batteries to replace after 2 years. What a drag!
Does anyone know how they got the extra post for the negative terminal?
I've talked with a good number of AMP Research step owners (IN-PERSON) at their vehicle here in Canadian Rockies.
Very low satisfaction rate, with most all of the units FAILING in 2 years or less.
Asked if they, a after market shop, or dealership installed prior to delivery (most pre-new delivery)
Real world experiences, with actual owners, in front of my eyes (not online), right where I live.
I would have bought these (or the HD edition) had the results (life expectancy) been better.
Great video. I would like to know if there is another way to wire it in behind the bus? I’m proficient at wiring so it doesn’t bother me. I need the port for live tuner display. Seems a bit odd to take up the one port? If not, will it work with a one port splitter?

This harness will work to install the OEM running boards?
Skipped a big part... Ok step installation complete... The arms are down... You connect battery... Do you have the door open before connecting battery? Then close it after you connect battery? Will the system retract if the door is closed when you connect to battery 🔋? Or do we leave door open while connecting battery? Thanks
It should not matter. Probably best to have the doors shut when reconnecting the battery.
@@americantrucks I left them open after installation then I could see them move the first time and be sure. Thanks for the reply 👍😎
So if I understand this correctly. You have to make holes on the body. The running boards and the brackets are supported by the body? Also the OBD connector will always be blocked with a "cover".
No that hole under the kick panel is there
He doesn't have a clue on how to properly hook up connections safely on the battery.
Fucking zipties everything. Terrible connections, obd is blocked plus, just look at them. They look cheap as fuck.
My stepdad truck came with them I’m not sure if someone installed Th me or what
