@@liyourey6174 I assume your goal is to get as much conversions as possible? Set up conversion tracking ASAP. Maximize clicks and TIS strategies will give you expensive conversions. If you're not sure about your keywords, I'd start with manual bidding (after setting up conversion tracking). Once you'll warm up your keywords a little bit, I'd go to 50/50 testing target CPA or maximize conversions strategies, I had good results with both of them. Good luck!
I usually understand all your suggestions, but I didn`t understand how lowering CPCs that are already too low for the first page bid can help? (min. 5:00)
You can do it on popular keywords google still show your ads just on the bottom of the page that also the reason why he has so low ctr If your keywords mach exactly your ads and landing page and you put money 💰 you can get 25 ctr but he has enough conversions even with low bid because of good strategy and great landing page
Just thought I’d say thank you for this detailed video. I’ve watched several of your videos and every single one has been eye-opening 👌❤️❤️. Thank you so much! You are amazing 👌👌!
Just like to point out an important note here. first off, I love your video even though i have close to 15 years experience in Google Ads. I am always trying to get ideas for improvement and your video definitely provided some important tips that I have overlooked. I would like to comment for people watching this video that here he creates ad groups for different products on his site. He then adds extensions on the ad group level. If you are working in-house and this was your company promoting these products it would make better sense to create a campaign for each product group. So instead of having different ad groups for farmhouse curtains, it would be better to have a campaign for farmhouse curtains and then have ad groups for the different types of curtains. The same for tv stands etc. This way your extensions and audiences would be on the campaign level instead ad group level.
This is great content. Do you have a video specifically about how you analyze your ads? I have been doing ads for a few years and am always looking to improve my processes. I feel that a lot of the analyzing I do is a mix of numbers and gut feelings. I'd love to see how you do yours.
That is a fantastic article! Thank you a lot. I'd like to add a word of advice to this article. I can suggest WASK for Google ads. You can check it is useful.
It is really another great video, even i have a bit knowledge and doing ppc for some time but every time watching any of your new video i feel that i have learnt a lot. Great work, Please create a in depth video on Merchant and Shopping Ads too .. from a to z. Thanks.
Hello and thank you for the great video. I have some questions regarding optimization as i find it quite challenging. I hope you get some time to answer them! It will help a lot. 1. If i want to exclude any search that contains a specific term and triggers my ad, for example my competitor's name, would a broad match kw like: competitor be enough? 2. What if i want to add a broad match modifier kw as a negative kw, wouldnt there be any mismatch because I will use a + sign for negative kws? 3. Generally i choose my date range (usually last 7 days) and then i check on the avg cpc to determine whether i will have to increase, decrease or leave as is for my max cpc (i tend to use eCpc) . Since the avg cpc is actually the competition, i suppose it is a good way to decide your max cpc, is thatcorrect? Or is it a big mistake? 4. If i have a high SIS but few impressions, does that mean that my ad is showing but probably does at the bottom (hence the few impr.) Or worse at the 2nd or 3rd page etc?but what if i have few sis but many impr? 5. When i first create a campaign there is usually a suggestion box on the right that mentions the avg cpc, my possible impressions and so on. Ive been told to stick to this in order to determine my max cpc for an group. But ive noticed that the avg cpc changes everytime i change my input. Is it good to try and change my input bfr saving a few times in order to see where the number on the righ box ranges? And then just bid a little higher? 6. Is there a limit of 4 callout extensions oer campaign? In the past i tried to add more and it just made the orevious one disappear! What can i do to use more if i want to? 7. Would make sense to only use broad match modifiers as kws? I mean, theoretically they cover the other options.. Thank you in advance!
These are great questions and it would probably be best for me to answer them in a video. When I create the video, I will come back here and send it to you. I will plan to create the video this week. Thank you for a video topic!
Good info. For no 7, why don't you just use experiment and do a/b test there for URL? For no 8, so let say I have same sitelinks & callout, why can I just use on campaign level instead? What's the difference of having same extensions on adgroup level vs campaign level?
Thank you! For #7, I just prefer the manual approach because that's what I'm used to doing the most. For #8, Ad Group level extensions can make your ads more relevant because you can link to the most relevant pages for the keywords you are bidding on. It can help your quality score because it increases Ad Relevance and can help CTR as well.
Good tips. You touched on landing page testing briefly which is an area that im heavily investing a lot of my time in right now. Would love to see you do a video for Google Optimize please.
Really finding your videos useful and I am adding to my knowledge. I seen to be having a problem with two of my Ads as I supply and install car charger units and have found that if i use the keyword for one of the units I find that the ads are limited to how often they are seen as Google says it has trademarks in the ad description as we are using a car charger make / model. I have included the copyright logo in the add thinking this may help, but it still has restrictions. would you have any advice on this? Thank you David
Just started a google ad campaign a week ago. Do I need to wait for more data in order to be able to use more advanced settings such as negative keywords/ manual bidding etc?
Actually, I would use manual bidding to start with. So I can save on the ad spend. You can also create a negative keyword list before starting your campaign if you already have an idea of what could be the irrelevant searches that your current ads and keywords could trigger.
Is there a specific reason why you don't use the Google ads Tests? For example for the landing pages, you duplicate it and do a change but this is exactly what the tests do. Are there any negative effects of the Google tests?
Great video! I have a question: How many ad accounts with the same pay profile and credit card can an Agency create - The accounts belong to Agency---Thank you in advance 🙏
No. 7 Duplicated responsive and extended search ads under ad group with 2 different URLs, wouldn't Google reject the ad since it only allows 1 same URL per ad group? Can you please provide further explanation?
Will a phrase match also pick up an exact match search query? For example, if I do "farmhouse curtains" will it pick up a search for "best farmhouse curtains" AND a search just for "farmhouse curtains?" Or do I need a phrase match keyword and exact match keyword to get both of those clicks? (Or potential clicks that is)
Hey Surfside PPC! Love the Channel. New to Google but have a search campaign going that I literally just set up. I know it's all about testing but how differently would you set this up?... Bidding: Manual CPC. Created 3 Ad groups (2 of them are suggested key word phrases and 1 is exact match), 4 ads (3 regular text and 1 dynamic text). Bids are $.25/KW at the adgroup level. Started the daily budget at $150. My thinking was budget will 3x my average desired CPA. Should I not assign an audience on this initial test or get some initial data first? Kindly respond, and tell me what you would do differently. Haha I feel like your student. I've set up multiple YT campaigns and a smart display camp and now a search campaign from your tutorials. Much Love! Thanks!
Hi! Whenever I need guidance I look for your chanel, thanks for excellent guides! How to handle split budget campaigns with low budget limitation? Should I change the bidding strategi back to Manual CPC and adjust according to you tip no 2? Thanks in advance!
Great video. What I am wondering is how the populating works in google analytics/ads. I want to retarget people who have visited a section on my site. It is a very big site and I am positive I have had around 8000 visits on that section. Both from organic clicks and paid clicks from FB. However, on google ads I only see the size as being 460 for search and around 1200 for display. What does this indicate? I did set page-exactly matches in analytics and I let it populate for around a week already.
It could be different things. Audiences are dependent on enabled cookies in order to be populated. If someone hasn't enabled cookies, or they have an ad blocker, or they're using a private browsing window, they won't be able to be added to the audience. In 2020 there are TONS of people using ad blockers or browsers that are more strict about cookies and privacy.
Hi. Great content! It's not clear to me why on number 2 you decrease the max CPC on all of they keywords. I see some around $1.10 and one at $5.5 yet you are decreasing the max CPC on all of them
Forever grateful. Thanks for sharing. I have one question thou.. which screen capture program do you use to create these amazing videos? I am into fitness space and i wanted to start creating videos such as these. Thanks
Around the 9:15 mark, you said one keyword was getting a lot of clicks so you were going to Decrease the bid. Why would you want to do that? I was always taught to "do more of what is working and less of what is not". Your rationale was to decrease the bid so other keywords could gain more clicks. Maybe those other keywords were just not as good as the first one? Go with the winner.
Hi. I had a question about number 3, bid strategies. Some of my campaigns don't have any conversions, but Google Ads is recommending I switch to target CPA and has this message "Recommended because your account has enough conversion data." Is the conversion data at the campaign-level or the account-level? Google Ads is recommending to switch because my account has enough conversion data, but the campaign getting that recommendation doesn't have any conversions. Should I leave it at Manual CPC until the campaign gets more conversions? Or switch to target CPA because my account has enough conversions?
Conversion data is at the account level. Whether or not switching to target CPA for a specific campaign depends on whether the conversions gathered by other campaigns is relevant to that specific campaign. As an example, let's say you have 2 campaigns, Campaign A and Campaign B. If campaign A has generated conversions but B has no conversions, it would only really make sense to switch to target CPA for campaign B IF the conversions would be similar to those generated by A. In other words, if Campaign B has a totally different objective than A, the conversion data in your account won't do you much good initially. My suggestion is to use Enhanced CPC bidding at first until you get some conversions and then run a campaign experiment with target CPA.
You said on one of your videos, that you weren't sure if this would be profitable because it's affiliates. Did you actually profit from this? Is there any hope to use adwords for affiliates or low priced ticket items?
At one point, when you added some audiences via google analytics, you said that you want those who have already visited your curtain pages to see your ads. However, in the settings you selected "observation". I always assumed that the selected audiences will only be shown the ads if "targeting" is selected. I'd appreciate if someone could clarify this for me :- )
He said that he wants to bid higher for people who visited his site not just target those audiences. If he selected 'targeting' then ads would only be shown to the audience he selected. In this case he selected 'observation' so that he could bid higher for the selected audience but still show his ads to other people searching for his keywords who are outside his selected audiences.

Hi. I had a question about number 3, bid strategies.
