  • I've been greatly inspired by James Luke Burke to try the "Page in 10" challenge. I have a lot of unfinished entries and would love to catch up during November. So the November Project was born: 10-minute timers to catch up. I loved this first go at it and hope to fill my journal this month.

I think you bring up some good points that alot of people struggle with-keep the pen on visual appeal vs enjoyment of writing with it, size of journal, ephemera struggles and capturing the details. If you enjoy the visual appeal of the pen then keep it. But if you start accumulating too many then you might have to pare it down. But as you say you make the rules and you can change it how you like. I've been trying to use a few stickers a week in my journal to add some visual interest otherwise it would just be writing. I really like the aesthetic of different colors and whimsy the stickers give.I bought quite a few holiday and seasonal stickers last Dec and Jan on sale that I didn't use so I want to make sure I use them this winter. I'm loving this spread and the halloween outfits!

I love this style of video and I'm happy that you are thinking of continuing this series! Something so satisfying about watching you cut out stickers and decide how to lay out your page (and I love your handwriting.) And yes journaling is an experiment! I tried writing large titles for each topic on the page and...I don't like it for me. But I'm glad I tried it!
I like your suggestion of a post-it note too. I journal daily but sometimes miss a day OR I think of something to write about during the day while I'm not near my journal, and a note-to-self is a great tool to prompt me to remember and then decide later if I still want to write about that topic. Sometimes it's a physical note but more often it's a pop-up reminder on my phone. Both work well.

Hi Simone, thank your for explaining more in this video.
Although watching the snippets video (and working on your journal) for so long, I somehow didn’t reflect much on your intention behind it and the last video made me thinking ☺️
The ink matches nicely the whole spread!
And I’m happy you do the snippets videos

I love your snippets videos! They are my faves! I am going to cave and use titles in my journals like you are doing. I don't know why I was trying to resist this, but every time I see you do it I want to do it too!

omg - my son was an alchemist last year, never heard of anyone else doing that. Changing styles/sizes is such a dilemma but I always tell myself I can go back at any time if I want to.

Your fussy cutting skills are impressive! What scissors do you like to use?

I love your videos! Question, does the 10 minutes allows you to enjoy the journaling? I feel like you enjoy journaling but the 10 minutes are not enough and I feel like you rush through it, I'm guessing is not as enjoyable 🤷🏻‍♀️
