The reason why Baxter, is white in the original cartoon, is bc the way shredder treats Baxter, the ppl working at fred wolf productions, they felt like it wouldn't be a good look. They didn't want to get a lot of angry letters.
I always heard this, along with not wanting kids to see a black man as a villain.
Yup, that’s the original Baxter. Sooo many people were tricked. Bebop was black too in his human form.

That unknown piece is a miniature model of the Rextab Building. In Issue#2 of the Mirage Comics TMNT, he makes a terroristic video while holding the model where he's holding the city hostage for a billion dollars. If the City of NY didn't pay the ransom, he'd use the Mousers to collapse the buildings from underneath. He destroyed the Rextab Building as a preview for what he would have done to one of the World Trade Center Towers.
The Rextab Building is actually the Baxter Building from the Fantastic Four! Rextab is "Baxter" backwards!

Love that figure! The only time Baxter was Caucasian was in the 80s cartoon for whatever reason haha, I grew up with the 2003 cartoon where he was black and my favorite iteration of the tmnt which is the 2012 era which he was also black

The difference between the two is that Baxter is somewhat crazy. He lost a lot of his sanity due to him being transformed into a fly or a cyborg. But this toy//look suits him well! Happy Sunday The QueenG22. Lol at your title. But I haven't seen the 80s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon since I was 5 or 6. I will say Baxter Stockman may not be my favorite TMNT villain. But I did enjoy his interpretation in the 2003 and 2012 show. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.

As a human Baxter Stockman is harmless, but when he becomes a human fly watch out. Did he become a problem for Shredder too later on in the show?
I remember when I first discovered that Stockman was originally a black character - I had the same initial reaction - who dis? Then I was like, WTF guys, why'd your change the character for the cartoon? Yay 80s white washing! Fair point about not wanting Shredder belittling a black man constantly though. Did you know that Shredder is voiced by Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince? I found that out really late too :P

However, if he was "black" in the cartoon they would have gotten James Avery to do his voice along with Shredder's so he can talk to himself and control the interactions.
They made Baxter white in the cartoon for the bow tie. We wasn’t doing bow ties back then 🤷🏽♂️

On another note I think the thing with black nerds/blerds like myself in the 80s were an unknown to society. It was like a white person being a Goth. It was odd then but now it is widely accepted that blerds exist thanks to movies like, Hidden Figures and characters like Steve Urkel. Baxter was made black in the 2003 cartoon and the 2023 movie Mutant Mayhem. So society and culture have matured over the past 20 years. Lmmfao. Nerd/blerds = $$$$ now. I think the media and made up demographics pushes a lot of social hangups back then and currently.
