Ive been lurking around here since the V playthrough. As the weirdo doing Let's Plays of every SRW, I appreciate the depth and effort you're putting into this (and the last SRW V review, and all the other stuff!)
I feel Shinta completely misses the reasoning for 30's handling of some of the series involved (not to say it handles them all that well mind you). A lot of them had had there plots adapted so often in SRW as of late, there really was no point in doing it again. So they are there to have them as units, but giving them a big story role would be beyond redundant at this point. Eg the Getter Robo Armageddon cast is mostly just turned into supporting players in Mazinger Z Infinity's story, because as good as Armageddon is, no one wants to see it's story adapted again, in the near future.
Well the second option was Neo Vs Shin Getter Robo. Devolution is purely manga base, New Getter Robo only have one unit (despite the triple change), and the Toei Getter's Voice actors were unable the reprise their roles one way or another. I mean we got Getter Ark now thanks to the Anime 2 years ago, but we have yet to expand on Kirik's moveset.
@@thetruewisegamer Eh it's not like playing a supporting role in another series story line is "nothing". Hell many SRWs that have great stories do that. Eg in Alpha pretty much all of Dancouga's story (ie it's actual villain faction) is omitted, with everything Dancouga related instead reworked to fit into the wider setting and the games original plot. The only antagonist from Dancouga remaining being a human general, who betrays Earth and joins up with the aliens in the source material.
@@DrMecha Actually the reason for no Toei Getter, was that they were simply giving it a break after it had been the default Getter entry in SRW for over a decade. There was a myth that they weren't allowed to use pr existing voice lines recorded by the Toei Getter cast, but both SRW's producer and Ryoma's voice actor confirmed that wasn't true. Hell Ryoma''s voice actor actually returned recently to voice Raideen's protagonist in SRW DD.

Sorry to make a third comment, but Shinta actually gets a fair amount of stuff about the Z games wrong. 1: The worlds merging together plot line happens, partially because the series Super Dimension Century Orguss had that as it's own central plotline. 2: The first Z game was pretty UC centric, due to Zeta Gundam sharing the spotlight with SEED Destiny for the Gundam side of things. 3: Code Geass and 00 weren't in until Z2, with Z2's world being created by the same event that merged the world's from Z1 together, with the Z1 cast getting Isakai'd to the Z2 world mid way through Z2 part 1. 4: Z2 is actually two games, which tell a larger story between them, with most the series that have time skips, having their post time skip content in Z2 part 2 5: The reason the second Japan was spared Britannia's invasion, wasn't because of Mazinger Z, as Mazinger didn't even exist in Z2's world at that point. 6: For broader context, Z2 uses the Shin Mazinger Z version of Mazinger, while Z1 used the classic 70's version. They estanlish that when the Z1 cast get isakai'd to the Z2 world, that the classic Mazinger and Getter casts didn't make the trip because, there were already versions of them in the Z2 world.
One could say that the entirety of SRWZ centered around Super Dimensional Century Orguss, as it revolves around the consequences of the detonation of the Space-Time Osculation Bomb and the conspiracy that centers around the mess that it has created.
In Fact I remember Zeta Gundam a new translation being the co-headliner in the real robot department alongside Seed Destiny, Z2 is split 2 because there wasn't enough room on one disc because of the PSPs technical limitations exactly the same thing happened with Z3, Toei Mazinger's retirement/break happened around this time as Toei Getter.
Well, while others point out about his mistakes with Z games, I will point out that Wataru had another relatively big appearence as crossover in Langrisser Mobile.

He is probably saving it for when he gets to T since it's in that game and gets a decent focus put on it with the help of the original dubine and Magic Knight rayearth story

I dunno if this is just me. But I still enjoyed the story of the V, X, and T stories. However, I also recognize that its likely because I have a higher tolerance to stupid shit and can turn my brain off to enjoy dumb things. Its likely why I enjoy SRW 30. But also likely the reason I also stopped playing it. I remember having it on release day and playing up to around maybe the forth or fifth level of the game. Then just stopping. I haven't touched it or the dlc stuff since. I think that's also why I'm writing my own SRW Fanfiction game. With the lynch pin being around an OC character who interacts with the characters of V, X, T, and 30 to help better combine stories. For anyone curious about the line up, its the line up of series from G Generations Cross Rays(OO, Seed, Wing, and IBO), Shin Mazinger Z, Getter Devolution and ARC(cause I wanna see how a digital would interact with their future son.), Shinkalion(movie ver), Cross Ange, Magic & Knights, SD Gundam Force, Netflix Ultraman, Kaiju Girls, Steel Jeeg(new ver), SSSS Dainazenon, Mashin Hero Wataru, Magic Knight Rayarth, Mightgain, Buddy Complex, and original to this Pacific Rim Uprising(I wanna crack at making the story ACTUALLY good.), Transformers Prime, Rise of the Beasts(I think I can make both plots work without messing anything up), Transformers Prime Shattered Glass(lots of fun interactions and intresting plot developments), finally the Monsterverse with Godzilla VS Kong then later Godzilla X Kong.
Ah X the game that ends in Y, jokes aside X is interesting to think about for me at least, like if this had a good couple more series to make a good fantasy core with Wataru to bounce off the OG stuff (and there's options for that) it could've been pretty interesting.

17:11 don’t forget the Lamune & 40 franchise and Lord of Lord Ryu Knight they also fit in Mamoru’s series it a shame they never thought of it or put it into a SRW storyline(yeah you probably don’t know those series but hey I am laying it out there)
NG Knight Lamune &40 and Ryu Knight (hell I think Ryu Knight would have prefect for X) have been in srw's it just that those games were Neo and Operation Extend (often simply called as OE), in fact in Neo's case hope you like those shows their quite the parts of it (especially Ryu Knight from what I've heard that game just loves doing Ryu Knight plot)
I hate multi posting but here a question? Why didn’t you talk about dubine actual ova sequel? Was it because it was not nessacary since it more focus on Tomino and explaining their problems in relation to dunbine?
While I’m not a huge Mecha buff/fan. I do enjoy the genre, and I have seen my fair share of Mecha Anime and Gundam in general. With that being said, I decided to try my hand at this game. And I have Major Critiques! As I do think That SRW X should’ve had more Isekai related Mecha. The only problem I can see is that majority of the Shows have concluded on good notes. It would take a lot of work to get a Majority of Mecha (and Mecha Isekai) to work. …but Compared to now, we Actually Have some new Isekai Mecha to Draw from. With the problems being, that majority of them are Seriously incomplete 😒
@Shinta Reviews So the series in this game are series we haven't heard of, padding from the last game, shows we have heard of but are set at the wrong points in their timelines and Studio Sunrise's failures over the last decade. Oh joy...
I think the "wrong points in the timeline" complaint is a bit dumb. It's clear that things don't happen in the same order that they always did in canon in SRW.
@@TeamTowers1 My original point is that I was wondering why some of these series are here after their stories have concluded. I have the same problem with SRW 30, I get that some series are really popular like Getter Robo: Armageddon for example. But by keeping them in, the story is held back because there's no development that we haven't in seen other games with these characters. For X, one example is Aura Battler Dunbine, specifically Todd. It makes no sense to bait us by having him as a playable unit for one stage then have him immediatly turn on the team even though his reason to fight Sho is gone. He could have stayed and his character development would have been the same just without having forced confrontations

Which is why V and T decided to go with a more broad strokes interpretation of it's story and 30 more or less omitted it's story in favor of making it a supporting player in Mazinger Z Infinity's story. Since Getter is one of the main entries in SRW (in more than 50 games you can count the amount of SRWs that don;t have it on on one hand), they went with Armageddon the past decade because, it feels wrong to not include it (yes I'm aware of the irony of saying this given the video is about X). And with all due respect Shinta himself does come across as talking out his ass a fair amount in these videos as he is pretty ignorant of a lot of SRW as a whole and misses the wider franchise wide context as to why certain decisions are made,
@@TeamTowers1 To your point, most people who watched this video and Shinta unfortunatly don't have access to the older games and even then wouldn't to be unable to read Japanese. I hope that bandai will release the Z Trilogy in a Remade Collection. I'm not the biggest fan of SRW's gameplay, I'm more of a Another Century's Episode kinda guy. (Which I hope gets a collection on consoles someday)
While I can agree with Shinta on Nadia being annoying and unlikable. I feel he's at best being somewhat misrepresentative of and at worst outright lying about some aspects of the show to support his point. His claim that Nadia has nothing to justify her behavior, really doesn't hold, since it relies on completely ignoring her entire backstory and circumstances. He makes out the circus she grew in to have been a healthy environment and not the abusive one it actually was. Don't get me wrong none of the is a get out of jail free card for her behavior, but it does make it a lot more understandable than Shinta makes it out to be. He also claims that Nadia never changes or grows past her behavior, which is objectively false, at least prior to the island arc. Nadia was actually slowly growing out of the mindset and becoming more reasonable. One of the biggest criticisms of the island arc is that it completely ignores all her character development and resets her to her more caustic early behavior. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't even disagree with his broader point about her character.
I Honestly never Seen Nadia, so can Neither vouch for any of that show or the claims against it. I won’t lie, I was curious about why Nadia was selected form it. And the Current Selected ones here in SRW X…yeah, it’s really Limited, and Nadia just doesn’t work here.
@@danielramsey6141 Apologies for the lengthy response but Long story short she grew up in an abusive circus that treated her as nothing more than a performance tool. Much of her behavior can be attributed to her upbringing causing her to hate adults and view all of them as bastards who are just out to use her and she lacks any of the actual formative and social experiences to know better, when it comes to her treatment of others. That and she's also a kid. None of this changes the fact that she is often grating and a detraction from the show, but Shinta's claims that she has know proper reason to behave the way she does is pretty disingenuous. I think Nadia's selection boils down to the themes VXT trilogy. Each of the three games have a different anim made by Anno (Eva in V, Nadia in X and Gunbuster in T) and each of the games feature a series that's features a battle ship instead of a mech (Yamato in V, Nadia in X and Harlock in T). Thus Nadia fit that motif of the series selection and actually killed two birds with one stone.

With that being said, I decided to try my hand at this game. And I have Major Critiques!
As I do think That SRW X should’ve had more Isekai related Mecha. The only problem I can see is that majority of the Shows have concluded on good notes.
It would take a lot of work to get a Majority of Mecha (and Mecha Isekai) to work.
…but Compared to now, we Actually Have some new Isekai Mecha to Draw from. With the problems being, that majority of them are Seriously incomplete 😒

@Shinta Reviews So the series in this game are series we haven't heard of, padding from the last game, shows we have heard of but are set at the wrong points in their timelines and Studio Sunrise's failures over the last decade. Oh joy...
I think the "wrong points in the timeline" complaint is a bit dumb. It's clear that things don't happen in the same order that they always did in canon in SRW.
@@TeamTowers1 My original point is that I was wondering why some of these series are here after their stories have concluded. I have the same problem with SRW 30, I get that some series are really popular like Getter Robo: Armageddon for example. But by keeping them in, the story is held back because there's no development that we haven't in seen other games with these characters. For X, one example is Aura Battler Dunbine, specifically Todd. It makes no sense to bait us by having him as a playable unit for one stage then have him immediatly turn on the team even though his reason to fight Sho is gone. He could have stayed and his character development would have been the same just without having forced confrontations

@@nicholaslockett3147 Because we already saw Armageddon's story fully adapted in Z2. Which is why V and T decided to go with a more broad strokes interpretation of it's story and 30 more or less omitted it's story in favor of making it a supporting player in Mazinger Z Infinity's story. Since Getter is one of the main entries in SRW (in more than 50 games you can count the amount of SRWs that don;t have it on on one hand), they went with Armageddon the past decade because, it feels wrong to not include it (yes I'm aware of the irony of saying this given the video is about X). And with all due respect Shinta himself does come across as talking out his ass a fair amount in these videos as he is pretty ignorant of a lot of SRW as a whole and misses the wider franchise wide context as to why certain decisions are made,
@@TeamTowers1 To your point, most people who watched this video and Shinta unfortunatly don't have access to the older games and even then wouldn't to be unable to read Japanese. I hope that bandai will release the Z Trilogy in a Remade Collection. I'm not the biggest fan of SRW's gameplay, I'm more of a Another Century's Episode kinda guy. (Which I hope gets a collection on consoles someday)
I kinda agree. This game felt boring. I wish some of the series were in V.
The UC felt so forced.
Kinda sad that Sunrise continues to force feed their Fans UC Gundam content in the wrong Genre Fantasy.
@@danielramsey6141 To be fair there is no mainline Gundam series that wouldn't be out of place in a fantasy setting.
While I can agree with Shinta on Nadia being annoying and unlikable. I feel he's at best being somewhat misrepresentative of and at worst outright lying about some aspects of the show to support his point. His claim that Nadia has nothing to justify her behavior, really doesn't hold, since it relies on completely ignoring her entire backstory and circumstances. He makes out the circus she grew in to have been a healthy environment and not the abusive one it actually was. Don't get me wrong none of the is a get out of jail free card for her behavior, but it does make it a lot more understandable than Shinta makes it out to be. He also claims that Nadia never changes or grows past her behavior, which is objectively false, at least prior to the island arc. Nadia was actually slowly growing out of the mindset and becoming more reasonable. One of the biggest criticisms of the island arc is that it completely ignores all her character development and resets her to her more caustic early behavior. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't even disagree with his broader point about her character.
I Honestly never Seen Nadia, so can Neither vouch for any of that show or the claims against it.
I won’t lie, I was curious about why Nadia was selected form it. And the Current Selected ones here in SRW X…yeah, it’s really Limited, and Nadia just doesn’t work here.
@@danielramsey6141 Apologies for the lengthy response but Long story short she grew up in an abusive circus that treated her as nothing more than a performance tool. Much of her behavior can be attributed to her upbringing causing her to hate adults and view all of them as bastards who are just out to use her and she lacks any of the actual formative and social experiences to know better, when it comes to her treatment of others. That and she's also a kid. None of this changes the fact that she is often grating and a detraction from the show, but Shinta's claims that she has know proper reason to behave the way she does is pretty disingenuous. I think Nadia's selection boils down to the themes VXT trilogy. Each of the three games have a different anim made by Anno (Eva in V, Nadia in X and Gunbuster in T) and each of the games feature a series that's features a battle ship instead of a mech (Yamato in V, Nadia in X and Harlock in T). Thus Nadia fit that motif of the series selection and actually killed two birds with one stone.
