- Building a dream home in Jamaica is a great achievement. Today I am doing a site visit of a dwelling home being built in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica and chatting with the construction team, so if you are looking for builders feel free to reach out to Southside Construction. The house has 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom. Construction began in late of 2020 and is about 60% complete. A Jamaican home construction mainly consist of concrete blocks, steel reinforcement bars, cement, timber and metal roofing. Constructing a home in Jamaica can be a daunting task but I am committed to help make the process a smoother one by providing as much information as I can. So true! I lived in the Midwest. Tornado alley. We had a brick basement to hide in if we needed to. Why not build the whole house from bricks? 🤷🏽♀️

Make sure the workmen clean up the stuff that falls on the floor whilst they're rough casting, because it's an absolute nightmare to clean up once it's dried.

How about the Masons lay the blocks plum to save on material?
This is not about blocks not being plumb, you can't paint blocks, this is the finishing touches for a smooth surface to be painted.
@@samxg5013 I get that. Did you see the cord line on the wall? That's about 3/4" to 1/14" thick. That's my point here.
@@REALBADMANSAMBO Is it the laying of the blocks or the defects in the making of the blocks? As some of these blocks are "bend up bend up" from the manufacturer, especially when the molding machine is not good.

Not considering cost for Land, how much is the approximate cost to block n roof a house this size ( not to completion just to take it out of foundation and roof it)

Roughly 40.5 million and it depends on the choice of finishing. I used a tile field sewage system. (Correction)

Depends if you ganna use a contractor or builder and how fast you want it, the type of fixtures, the leveling of the land(flat land cheaper and easier to build on). This could run you bout 30 to probably 45 million
