    Welcome to Bowlers Paradise!
6 years and 5 releases later, Radical brings back the original black and yellow conspiracy, this time updated with the HK22+ solid cover finished to 2000 grit out of the box. Just like the original, this one features the strong conspiracy core with a 2.48 RG, big .056 differential and a strong .021 int. diff.
For the layout, I decided to go with a 4x4.5x5.5 2LS layout. This is a new layout of me on a solid asym meant to encourage strength, and even shape and a whole lot of continuation through the pins. This layout, although unique, is one that is really meant to amplify the natural strengths of the conspiracy and should turn this one into a killer in the high oil volume environment.
AND ON THE LANES…when it did the right thing, the conspiracy is probably the most fun shape i’ve thrown in a while. The only problem is that right thing was really hard to reproduce. Brunswick has done a great job implementing the HK22 additive in their hybrid and pearl releases, and this one from Radical feels like a step in the right direction for their solid coverstocks, but it’s not 100% there yet, and the inconsistent performance is a result of that delayed progress.
But man, when I get the conspiracy to clear the midlane just that little bit extra and you see that huge core start to take over and just ram through the pins, man oh man. That’s the shape I see when I dream about bowling. I remember a time not long ago that big solid asyms couldn’t make this kind of shape. They would all roll out and you had to play most of them direct up the lane, but this conspiracy likes to shape.
So on the list of downsides, the biggest one is how the logic of the conspiracy doesn’t really match up to how most bowlers think about big solid asyms. Thinking about the difference between say this one and the Mindset from Brunswick, I don’t think they’re anywhere near each other even though they would fill similar parts of an arsenal. If you can get over the pre-conceived notion of where this ball should strike and just move into where it does strike, it will serve you well.
That will work even better when you pair it with a Track Paragon Pearl and a DV8 Verge hybrid. The Paragon has a similarly huge core, but the cover is much different than the Conspiracy, and then the Verge Hybrid is one of the stronger symmetrical options and gets close to matching the cover strength of the conspiracy. Its a high risk high reward kind of bag, but when you match up with it the scores could be huge.
Jumping to our crossbrand comparisons, I first took a loot at the Harsh Reality from 900 Global and here I see a piece that is both cleaner and quicker off the spot than the conspiracy. It’s a surprising comparison because the Harsh Reality is actually duller out of the box than the conspiracy, but my eyes aren’t fooling me here. Those that need that extra midlane strength will lean towards the conspiracy.
Then I took a look at the DV8 Hater because honestly, these two on paper feel like they fit the same spot in the bag, and I needed to know why they released them at the same time. The Hater is much less continuous off the spot than the Conspiracy, but just as strong overall. The Hater reads the earliest of our three comparisons, and uses that to control the pocket on demanding conditions.
But with that, here’s my recommendations on types of bowlers that I think would match up well with the Radical Conspiracy. The first is full rollers. Just like when I recommended the archetype hybrid for full rollers, this one has very similar characteristics to that one from track. It’s super strong, but has some pop off the spot. Full rollers would likely match up even better with this one from Radical.
The second recommendation is for bowlers with high tilt. The times I got the conspiracy to clear the fronts, the shape off the spot was a dream. Bowlers with high tilt will much more easily clear the fronts than me, and will. likely be rewarded with a great shape downlane because of it.
This re-released Conspiracy from Radical might be a new take on an old idea, but in the right hands, will make your scores suspiciously high.

With all the stuff you drill, and all the layouts you use, would you breakdown your personal experience with adjusting the 2LS numbers?
Pin to CoG is straight forward to increase or decrease the diff.
    But let's say you have 4x4x2 2LS.
If you wanted to smooth out the reaction, would you do it by stretching pin to pap, to reduce overall flare, or by stretching PAP to PSA.
    Like 5x4x2 vs 4x5x2.

This is such a tough question to answer because it is all so dependent on the ball that is receiving the layout. Its also dependent on how you define "smooth." Here's the way I think about it on asymmetrical pieces like this one.
Pin to PAP - Pin distances above 4.75" promote more sideroll off the spot. Under that and the reaction tends to be more forward.
PSA to PAP - The higher the number, the more continuous it wants to be, and I personally don't go above 5.5". Shorter distances tend to have to ball be cleaner through the front and softer off the spot and through the pins (great for high diff symmetrical pearls)
CoG to Pin - Agreed, basically a differential control. If I want the ball to shape more, the further away from the CoG I get.
So with that out there, to smooth out a reaction, my first move would be to increase that PSA to PAP distance. Reaction will be stronger but also earlier and smoother.

Think the same layout would be a good pick for the Hater?

Do you think there is room or reason to have both the Conspiracy and the DV8 Hater? Which would you pick for a heavy oil tournament ball?

Personally, I'm a fan of the Hater, but the conspiracy is actually a touch stronger.
