I spent many years in the 70s up there on dirt bikes.such a wonderful place.my dad rented an old cabin in kennedy meadows. For about 15 yrs.thanks for the video so many memories come flooding back
Thanks for stopping to save my trailer. It was quite an ordeal for me on that trip. Jeep got hydro locked at the river, which eventually got towed out a week later. Trailer wheel falling off while rescuing it home with my secondary rig... Trailer axle replaced, engine on jeep replaced.
Do you think a lift Subaru outback wilderness could make it through that first half before it opens up? I've never have been there but been wanting to go.
you can see from the start of the video how rutted out some of the areas are. I dont know how an outback will do with limited ground clearance and wheel travel would do.
My friends did. They had to backtrack and pay $7.49 a gallon to make that route. We all burned about half a tank just from 395 to the back of the Meadows
Really nice video but, you need to work on balancing the sound. Had to turn way up to hear conversation then, be johnny on the spot to turn down when music came on. Nearly blew out a set of speakers.
This is one of the most disgusting and disheartening videos I've seen in a while. I've heard about all the "overlander" crowds in area, but never really experienced it or seen it personally until this video. This area is being destroyed and will only be a matter of time before it's "limited or permit required use only" because of all these people. That area can't support all those people at one time, and was never intended to have that many people crammed into that area at one time. It saddens and disgusts me because I've been going to that area for over 25 years and never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that many people up there at once. You people don't even respect the area. You are required to have your camp be a minimum of 100' away from water sources, not only for potential pollution run-off, but more importantly to allow wildlife to access water sources too. I mean come on, you're right up against a wilderness area, although I'm sure almost everyone up there doesn't know that or could careless! Everyone up there is more worried about their instagram shots and showing off their overland gear than they are about the actual outdoor experience. It's not about getting in the wilderness anymore, it's all about the look at me and what I have bolted to my vehicle. Case in point, you go all that way to camp in an absolutely amazing area and you watch a movie. Must have been wonderful for all your neighbors, but looking at how everyone everyone else is adhering to the 100' setback, I'm sure you weren't the only movie watchers.

A dirt bike would be awesome in this area. Amazing place to visit.

I saw that you drive to Monache via the Mojave. Did ya return Via Sherman Pass?

@@johnallen2013 apologies about the sound. Some of the original audio was hit with copyright so I had to do a music over after the fact.
That was a golden not a raimbow and one of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen from there. Rip
nice, I'm still new to the whole fishing game lol.
What freaking state are you in?
California
