- In this video I show you how to use a digital multimeter. This is a basic tutorial on the different functions and how to use them. A multimeter is something that most everyone should have some knowledge on how to operate.
The most common use is testing ac voltage in your home. Another handy feature is the dc voltage setting for your automobiles and batteries. Testing resistance is another very common use for a digital multimeter.
Here is the one I used in this video

Can you lower the music a bit. Distracting me from knowledge!
I concur with the music situation....delete or turn it way down....great topic and I don't want to miss anything. Thanks Bill.
RIP. Im learning a lot from you videos.
Hi..i don't know wtf is ac dc a v or oem.. can you please help me find a meter clamp for a car which reads automatically the shit I'm putting the clamp multimeter on ?! Thanks!

Thanks for helping, how to check if the battery is charging
whats the model number of this multi meter bill?
Nice video thanks for sharing
Miguel Loza It's a Milwaukee 2237-20.
I have a window ac model number LW1510ER 15,000 BTU and I plugged it in and press the power button and no power at all. Outlet is working, green light is on on the plug and the fuse in the AC is okay. When I stored it last year it powered up perfectly.
Great video, one thing to note, when discharging the capacitor, make sure the tool you use is to cross the terminals is Insulated.
I realize I'm kind of off topic but does anybody know a good site to watch new series online ?
@Jude Dash i would suggest flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Christopher Otis Definitely, been watching on FlixZone for since april myself :)
@Christopher Otis Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I really appreciate it!!
@Jude Dash no problem :)
Beautiful meter. Guess I'm getting one!
Bill Newberry . Just finished watching all your vids, I think. Totally EXCELLENT! Wish I'd had access to the net and your vids yrs ago, I would not have gone through two washing machines, 2 fridge freezers, one only after, the yr long guarantee had only just expired, stuffing tesco! worst of all my old little freezer which when it stopped working, I was heart broken, more than when the mother in law passed!!!
this was a great video ,These are in everybody's toolbox and very few people know how to use this tool , like you said sticking these probes in things can be deadly , thank you for the video
I’m team Milwaukee really interested in these meter but no absolutely no one who ones a Milwaukee meter. How is your experience with this multimeter ? Would you recommend it ?
Which meter do you guys use on a daily basis? Thanks!
+Bill Newberry My dad had a Fluke that I loved. Unfortunately, when he passed away a few years back, my mom sold all his tools before I could ask for them. Ah well. This is a good demo, man. Thanks.
Very good video.
My go to meter for years was my Fluke 116 and still love it, it's true RMS and lightning fast response, but lacks the clamp function.
I've recently switched over to only carrying a diagnostics bag in with me on my initial trip in so carry my Southwire cheapy clamp meter from Lowes. It does about everything you want including capacitance, but I triple check my meter readings because it gives false negatives if the leads aren't left in just the right spot.
+Bill Newberry Great Job here!!! Me favorite meter at present is the Fieldpiece Multimeter. Has a K type slot so you can also use a temperature clamp. Great for air conditioning electrical testing, as well as measuring superheat and subcool. Nice Vid!!! ~ Hi Ya!!!!!
My go to meter is this exact meter..Milwaukee 2237-20. It has never let me down until this week when the lead terminals let go from the circuit board. 6 years of abuse IMO. Rain, snow, wind, dust, etc. It has performed exceedingly well for the money. It's $100 less expensive than the comparable Fluke 325 but most of my colleagues don't like it because it's not yellow. The Milwaukee rep told me it was engineered by Fluke for Milwaukee and it had a 5 year warranty so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'll be purchasing another 2237-20 this week.
use my multimeter.which i post in my chanel.
You explain thing so well in your video I’ve seen a lot of your video. I really appreciate you
No tempature? How am I gonna get superheat and subcool with that?
Thanks buddy, I should have paid more attention way back when.
From far my favorite tutorial! Straight forward , easy and efficient demonstration! I use to own one ( his little brother without the dc amps feature ) My next one will be like this one .
I've had this meter for about 6 years now and it was the best bang for the buck when I got it. I needed a dc amp function and a Fluke meter with dc amps was $100 more at the time. One of my only issues with this meter was that it appears to zero itself every time you take a measurement. It's a 3 to 4 second process that really slows you down when doing multiple tests. The meter in the video takes measurements instantaneously. None the less, I'm going to purchase another 2237-20 to replace mine. It's still working but after extensive field use, the lead terminals are giving me trouble. Last night I discovered the brass tubes were broken away from the circuit board. That's 6 years of rough jobs site abuse. Rain, snow, wind, etc. I think it held up exceedingly well. A Milwaukee rep. told me it was designed by Fluke so I decided to give it a shot.
Gracias Bill !
This multimeter seems to operate a lot smoother than my Meterk but then again I guess you get what you pay for.
ps, bill I have few good brand multimeter, but I don't have any amps clamp meter, which I will love to have, thanks again
Where did you pick up those alligator clips? Looking for a set like that
Great work man thanks for you're knowledge very well described
HI bill nice video, can you tell us, what model is the amp clamp, and where we can get it, thank you from Ontario ca
love you man i like your simple way to transfer
the knowledge
There is a good clamp meter, thanks Bill
My main one is Fieldpiece and for my back up is Klein which is significantly affordable than
the former, both has clampmeter on it
What do you say about LoZ,you dont need that?
Good Video Bill. Question though on the stove heating element. Don't those run on the 220V side and if so would that change the Amp reading vs 120V?
Thank you, good video! Was a wood shop guy, never learned basic electrical items.
Thank you
Should I get this or the fork model?
Thanks!!
Good quick overview of how to use digital meter
Thank youso much sir very useful explain .
I use my Fluke 324 the most out of my collection.
Brilliant instructions! Thank you!
Great video very thorough!
Good video
good video, thank you Sr.
very informational. thanks for the tutorial!
How to get one like this
Excellent video
nice thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks so much!!
You had me at capacitance!
Thanks for the video.
Excellent video Bill!
Excellent tutorial!
THANKS
thanks for this Bill ...

That voltmeter fucking sucks!!!!! Don’t fucking buy that pice of crap. I had to look for a video with it to warn everyone
