Crazy how I started watching you before nursing school and now I'm starting orientation as a new grad nurse on Monday!!! So excited and nervousss 😭 Thanks for this video 💞💞💞
Yess! As a nurse of 6 years I agree with all those points! I also say be well groomed. Have your scrubs ironed and be in the correct color for your discipline.
I watched you 2 1/2 years ago when I first got accepted into nursing school and now I start my job as a L&D RN on Sunday! Thank you girl! You are definitely one of my inspirations! 💕
Congrats to you. Being new can be scary but, take it day by day and it will all slowly start to make sense. I work Trauma Surgical ICU, with similar content.
Hi! I’m graduating in December and may I ask how you got a position in the NICU as a new grad? Many nurses have told me I will never get a new grad job in anything but Med Surg and its really discouraging when my heart is in OB
@@julegonzalez1196 omg that is so not true! if you’re heart is set in OB go for it! try to find any new grad programs in your area that offers a track in OB and apply! it is definitely possible to get a job as a new grad in a speciality so don’t get discouraged! best of luck to you! :)
@@julegonzalez1196 not true! If anything, what happened with me is I got offered a position in PCU which is basically step down ICU and they told me I can transition to ICU or ER after a year. So you might have to start off in a step down or even med-surg/tele unit, but there is always the option to transfer, you're not stuck forever!
I've watched you when I was still dreaming to continue my nursing journey after over a decade. Now I can say I am a nurse, and just got hired by the hospital I wanted to work at. I'm so excited.
I just finished first week of orientation and I am super nervous for next week. Dreading the day to have the first patient. I'm so nervous. I'm not a new nurse but it's a new healthcare setting
Girl, I’ve been watching your videos since 2017. I’m finally starting nursing school this Spring! It’s my 2nd BS, so this will be interesting. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been taking notes, lol. Love your videos. 💜
Just found out that I pass the NCLEX today. Really excited BUT at the same time i am really nervous for that first job. I don't have any experience really. I'm nervous of what's coming. Wish i could have a fast forward button where i could just skip to the point where i'm competent. Sigh
@sallyjane8274 LOL, how ironic. I'm actually at work now. Holy crap, can't believe it's been 4 years. I came along way. Started on Medsurge Tele, did some Trauma ICU (bad idea), some traveling. How do I feel now? I've taken care alot of patients, made great memories. Still at bedside nursing BUT I do plan on exiting nursing in 6 years or less. But nursing have done a lot for me and my family. I have seen and done so much in 4 years where nothing fazes me anymore. Love helping the community but nursing is stressful. Once I pay off my house, im out.
I thought i was already subscribed to you but... now i am haha. I currently have a new grad with me until December and i'm trying to make it the best experience as possible. Unlike my nursing school journey lol
I watched your videos for a couple years, graduate nursing nursing school, and now I’m an RN too!! ☺️ I start this fall. Thanks for all your amazing videos and tips
Heading to my 5th week of training and going night shift. During day shift, I struggled with giving my meds on time and knowing what to say to the doctors, these doctors don’t want to hear SBAR. They interrupt me anytime I start with SBAR. And they talk so fast. I need a pre-script (besides the SBAR) of what to say to doctors or any interdisciplinary team.
Who's the patient, whats the problem, why they're here, is there anything you'd like to do for the problem dr?, or your own suggestion. This order typically works for me. One short sentence or less each. And always have your latest freshest vitals on deck
I absolutely love your channel. I have watched you before and during nursing school. Your videos are so motivational and helpful. This video also came at the best time because I am starting my first Rn position next month. Thanks for the tips!
Starting my new job as caretaker at intensive care and I am so nervous and anxious, still I am excited and I hope I will make it through. Thank you :-)
I’ve been a nurse for a year and a half but I’m about to switch specialties so this helped a lot! Do you have advice on how to deal with workplace politics/drama?
Can you please make a video on what accessories you recommend? I’m starting in the ER and would like to know what to have on my badge. Anything else I should have on my person? Thanks.
I appreciate your wisdom so much! Just started in the nicu and I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing since my background is only adults! Thanks for your videos ❤️
Yesterday I had my interview . It went well she took me for hospital tour after that she asked me to come tomorrow for orientation when I asked her that I selected or not , she said to me that they will watch me during period of orientation after that decide to hire me? Am confused can you tell me something about it ?
Just got accepted into nursing school for next semester. Can you give tips on how to prepare before nursing school because I feel stupid and stressed right now 😖
Jesus died for you was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. If you confess with your mouth Jesus is lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. Please repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior.
Get to know where to look up doctors numbers and who to call first - if they use a PA - call them first !!! Lol there’s nothing like a doctor yelling at you because you called him and not the PA.:/

Tomorrow is my second day on the floor. I needed this. Our floor is crazy and I felt like I was drowning on my first day.
