- We've been working hard to make our backyard a place to relax and enjoy the views! This weekend Stijn surprised me with the long awaited pergola in our backyard! This was an exciting weekend for me!!
So lovely to see your gorgeous garden once more!
That area will be so lovely once the mimosa grows and the pergola is smothered with vines etc! A perfect place to sip on a lovely chilled wine on a hot evening 🥰🍷♥️🌻🌞🦋

What a fantastic pergola, so beautiful. Wisteria sounds a a super choice, both the blue and the white one for example. And here comes a few other ideas: SCHIZOPHRAGMA HYDRANGEOIDES 'MOONLIGHT') orClematis (there is so many different colors) or roses for example. All the best to you both and congratulations with the pergola (what a team building it so quickly).

Put up grapes and an Italian jasmin. They both grow really fast and you wil have the fruit from the grapes, the scented flowers from the jasmin and the cover from both. Great job guys, see you soon! 😘😘😘

What a beautiful pergola. And that view is gorgeous. Clematis would be a nice ornamental choice as well as wisteria. What about hardy kiwi for fruiting vines? Passion fruit vines may turn into passion fruit if your season is long enough. They are beautiful too.

@@ouritaliandestiny7955 wisterias are so pretty too. They seems kind of mystical with their hanging clusters of flowers. Make sure you don’t plant the invasive type where you will find their roots shoot off to about 20’ away from the pergola and plant themselves everywhere else too.
We would love to ask you questions as we are considering retiring to Italy and have lots of questions regarding cost of the house, the renovations like your kitchen. We have questions about residency and taxes. Doesn’t look like you have neighbors near by how is that? How far from medical facilities and hospitals and how is the healthcare. Sorry I could go on. Your inspiring it’s our dream too. Thanks Laurie
Clematis could be a good choice, I see someone else mentioned it above. There are some cool night-blooming plants that attract different pollinators but i don't know if any would suit your climate. Do they have anything like Extension offices in Italy? Garden clubs?
I love Clematis! Everything pretty much grows here though it can freeze in our altitude. I've wondered about an ag extension office as well...I'm not sue there is.

We have definitely thought about grape vines but think they might be a little messy🍇🍇
