  • For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... Here are some of my go to techniques for a big smooth sustaining lead tone - nothing specific but the kind of lead tones I like are sort of dark, but musically sustaining, not harsh and maybe with a hint of fuzz.
    Please feel free to leave a comment to help boost the health of the channel and maybe even consider liking or subscribing or sharing with your Cousin?
    I've decided to make it possible to grab both my Helix/HX Stomp bundles (the expression bundle with freeze presets has always been separate) together for £5 - www.paypal.com... - I will then email you a link to both bundles!
    You can get my EXPRESSION patches in this bundle using this link - I will then send out the patches! www.paypal.com...
    Try my patches (60-70+) for Helix or HX Stomp in this bundle for £3 using this link - I will then send out the patches! www.paypal.com...
    Try my patches for Pod GO for £3 using this link - I will then send out the patches! www.paypal.com...

    I actually bought a stomp after watching these videos the last few months. I have been trying to incorporate it into my existing board and use in my amp.. but I think It's time to start mucking about with on its own and just using these presets.

    Holy crap, I have been watching your channel for a few months now and was aware of your legato/picked notes sounding as seamless as Holdsworth, but Jay-zuzz your alternate picking is f'ing badass and aggressive and equally musical and rhythmically on point.
    Thanks for the tips, I am learning more with every video you make about patch making. Liked and will share.
    And you might eventually convert me from my sights being on a Boss GX-100 to a helix or an HX Stomp by next Christmas. :-)

    Excellent tips. I wish I could audition Speaker Cabs on the HX Stomp as easily as we audition Mics. The Speaker Cabs remain the most underutilized part of my unit.

    I like to reduce the preamp/amp gain and use a compressor after the amp to increase sustain. If you have a relatively long attack amd a relatively short decay it let's the picking dynamics through and is fairly responsive. A soft knee also helps. The best it to run the compressor in parallel.

      Can you explain more how this would work? I have a Pod Go and would like to increase my sustain on some clean tones.

    • @takeawaybenji
      @takeawaybenji 2 роки тому +1

      @@bcain5823 I don't know if you have tried to find one, but there are very few parametric EQs available in a guitar pedal format.
      The "magic" of pedals like the tube screamer us that they have a fairly prominent mid-boost before the distortion/overdrive circuit. The more gain, the more important it is to focus the tone in the mid-range.
      I the idea would be for a Wampler pedal that had a sweepable mid-range boost to alter the voicing of any amp or distortion/overdrive pedal.

      @@takeawaybenji Understand but it would be nice to arrange my internal Pod Go effects (pedals). Besides, I bought the Pod Go as a versatile alternative to a rack of pedals.
