I don’t normally comment on videos but I have to say that your content is unique. So far you’re the greatest fragrance content creator out there, please keep it up.
I used to work at A&F when I was in college. I would leave with that fragrance seeped into my skin because the fragrance was released from the ceiling non-stop. Projected insanely and all the moms were obsessed with it. Everyone knew what it was when I would walk by
I once visited USA as a tourist and I went to a AF store, with no intention of buying anything. The store smelled so so so good that I needed up purchasing stuff and then I visited the another store and purchased again and then again and eventually purchased 2 bottles of Fierce and so much more stuff. I just loved it back then. Haha! Thinking about it now, it always makes me laugh. How human emotions work.
Yeah I can’t smell this without thinking of walking past A+F in the mall 20 years ago. Literally blasted it out of the vents you could smell it 20 feet outside of the store. Memories
Iconic scent. Reminds me of walking into Abercrombie and Fitch stores during the 90s and 2000s. Or just the mall in general. It is an iconic mall vibe scent.

@@sidanx7887their very first fragrance was Woods and sprayed in their stores during the end of the 90s until Fierce took over. I don't know if they had a store exclusive fragrance prior Woods.. though I know they had a couple nostalgic fragrances in their app a few years ago.
@@sidanx7887I'm a 90s guy and I obviously was a child at the time so I don't remember what it smelled before Fierce became 2002, the sex in a bottle, but from hearings and my cousins they had Woods in the Store. Don't know if they used anything before that maybe they did before Woods was released but if biography is right Woods was their first fragrance.
The perfumer that made this fragrance actually released a GCMS of this fragrance! He said that he only used two naturals in this one, Lavandin and Clary Sage. And yes - this one is heavily based on IES - 45% of the formula!
Back then this was one of my favourite scents. But because it was discontinued, I started using the original MB Legend. It's a great substitude for this nostalgic scent. Great review, Aaron
@@gregoryj.nai-chung-tong150 Ohh I see, where are you from? :) As far as I know A&F made the Fierce line to be an exclusive product only (as it originally was) sold online/their app and at their stores for a few years now in some countries again. Some grey market retailers may still have some stock including eBay, amazon etc but usually if you are from outside North America you won't find it at the major and regular perfumeries.

Abercrombie still makes Fierce. It's been their biggest selling fragrance ever. Although, it's been reformulated since the original. Not many remember Abercrombie Woods, which to me was heaven in a bottle. The OG version was magic, but the later re-release was not.
@@katharsis3754try The DUA’s Brand Attar Fierce fragrance! Just bought one 30ml bottle for $45ish that they made based off the vintage original formulation of Abercrombie’s fierce and is a more amped up intense version! Reviews have said it smells close if not exact to the OG yet far more powerful!
I dont understand why some people are able to teach themselves and become successful while others are told “you have to start when youre really young, go to school and learn chemistry and if you start too late it wont happen because it takes decades to master.”
@@992turbosThe thing with schools is that they kill your creativity, tells you to follow orders, and make everything boring and redundant by making you take useless classes. Him in the order hand. Started with chemistry, and used it as a backbone to follow his passion of perfumery.

@@Stefke1 I'd say Chanel's Platinum Egoiste is woodier, classier and a bit more mature. Nonetheless, a 10/10 fragrance that will always have a spot in my collection
@@BrunoConfortin I agree, yet it still feels modern and youthfull enough for me to wear, it does not smell old. Got a vintage bottle, the one that says Egoiste Platinum, instead of the opposite way. Surprisingly strong to, 2 sprays enough for the day.
Love your in depth knowledge about fragrance construction and the various components, it really elevates you above the rest of the fragrance reviewers out there.
I like to add a single spray layered on top of other fragrances to give a hint of nostalgia and freshness. It’s still surprisingly effective in that regard. Reminds me of my 20s.
The perfumer of this is super cool (christophe laudamiel) he does a lot of initiatives around transparency and accountability in fragrance. The story on Fierce is pretty cool as well in how it came about. The process and testing and such. Definitely worth checking out.

If you smelled the original, first batches, you would faint if you love this current version. It was way stronger and the oak moss was more pronounced. It’s spawned so many inspirations: Skull & Roses by Ed Hardy, Armaf Derby Gold, Mont Blanc Legend, Mont Blanc Legend Intense, etc. I even had a fragrance oil of it. I still love this scent!
So I used to have the “original” version back in the day and it was absolutely fabulous, the latest “batches” do not smell as high quality (almost a more synthetic scent) so I wonder what changed and why, do you know?
@@haydensmith888 Yes. First, IFRA regulations made it impossible to stay the same. Limited oak moss and other ingredients. That took away a big part of MANY fragrances that I loved (Tsar was one of them).

@@haydensmith888 Yes the batch variations were all over the place. I have a recent batch but I would always recommend Armaf CDNIM or Afnan Supremacy Silver to anyone wanting the DNA. Creed has lost its luster.
I didn't know it was discontinued it's on virtually every website in the UK still, Americans know it as the mall fragrance from going to shopping centres and they must have a lot of A&F stores and they say they smell this as soon as they walk in the door
I like the technical breakdown how certain chemical compound produce certain notes. I don't get much sweetness on this one, more like citrus, forest-y (pine?) and musk.
I remember when A&F opened their store just off Savile Row they used to pump this through the air-conditioning & outside the store - anyone who worked within a quarter of a mile of the store grew to hate it very quickly as it was inescapable ! 😂

Good ole Fierce. I hardly wear it these days, but, when used to wear it back in the day… TON of compliments. Mainstream as you can get but they got it right and hit it out of the park when they came out with this and the marketing campaign. It is one of those few fragrances that has a distinctive smell at the time and then others copied. A classic
If you liked this one you should review Parfums De Marly - Percival or Tiziana Terenzi - Foconero, they are very similar but with more natural ingredients.
Great review as always! I really enjoyed this in my teens and early 20s. Many people compare this to Parfums de Marly's 'Percival', Mont Blanc 'Legend', and even your brand's 'Guapo'. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how you'd compare them! General opinions/reviewers seem to say Percival is slightly more mature, and better quality. MB Legend being fruitier, and ATH Guapo being creamier and the best of these four.
Abercrombie & Fitch's FIERCE had a bad reputation because the A&F clothing stores in malls would always emanate this fragrance to the point where it was overbearing. As a perfume it was always good, handsome, and even elegant. Another great review !!
So it's no longer worth using it? 🤦🏻 Never used it before and wanted to try it cuz I hear it's a chick magnet lol But now I hear people saying negative things about it: reformulation, being old news etc

I would love to see you do a review on one of their other great fragrances, Ellwood. One of my all time favorites, unfortunately the last few batches I got smelled like alcohol but the first few I had were divine ❤

Could you do a video about Drakkar Noir? DN is an older fragrance that still has some popularity here in the United States, and I know from reading "The Ghost Perfumer" by Gabe Oppenheim that Drakkar Noir is mainly centered around dihydromyrcenol and (I believe) hedione, which are both mentioned in your review of Fierce. Curly Fragrances made a video on DN, and she loves it, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it. 🙂
this is nice, just a few weeks ago I mention it would be dope if you could review Fierce and now it is real 😌 Fierce isn't discontinued though for good 😊 it has been apparently through some reformulations since 2012 but the sex in a bottle smell remains, its truly an American Pie and all the teenage party and Sport movies and series, just summer, young, ready to go on adventures, to the beach just live your life day and night 😊 Its great you really like it as well 😊
Aaron, so really glad you've covered this fragrance. I've read so many glowing reviews for it, and as you correctly said, pricing is all over the place, and so is availability. Tried looking for decants of this, but none that I could find. So I've held off doing a blind buy. So once again, thank you for this review. Gutted if what you say about it being discontinued is true. Why does this happen to good fragrances? Maybe if it is off the market place, maybe it's something you could aim at creating something similar with your own touch? You could call it 'Fiercer' ;o)

just like any other perfume, I've been told this has been heavily reformulated and it is watered down way too much compared to the first few years of production. this is something many would've smelled in the malls everywhere in the US back in the early 2000s.
Fierce has been around for years. I wonder how many times it has been reformulated. Fierce was one of the first few fragrances that made me fall in love with the fragrance world. Iconic scent, still love it but I’m sure it’s not nearly as good as it use to be

Great video! Does this in any way smell like Dior Homme 2020? I'm looking for something like Dior Homme 2020 but with more punch. Fresh woods masculine with a hint of sweetness in the dry down (to my nose at least) I love it, but it doesn't project how I'd like it to.
Em I doing myself a disservice by getting Mont Blanc Legend EDP? I mean it's an EDP which is better constructed & it lasts longer. A&F FIERCE it's an EDC [Eau de Cologne] so it's not even an EDT. EDC fragrances are like Eau Fraîche fragrances, they lasts 2 to 3 hours max. Not worth it.

Man if it were possible to find you a red letter bottle from 2002-2004 that doesn’t completely ruined top and mid notes I’d send you some of that to try. I had this when it was released and also worked there one season as an opener. We used to spray this everywhere in the store with big Fierce Room Spray bottles that were concentrated enough to the point where it said on the label to not let it come in direct contact with skin haha. Miss it!
Mate I really really really really really want you to do your own take on D&G pour homme the made in Italy vintage formulation. As you know it’s not made the same now and it’s starting to get ridiculously expensive if a bottle somehow pops up. We want an ATH remix of this in beast mode! Please 😁
Great video! I love Fierce, shame if its been discontinued… First time I smelled Dior Sauvage, back when it came out in 2015, it immediately reminded me of Fierce. I felt like it was just a clone. Side by side I can smell the difference now, but I do still feel like Dior got some inspiration from Fierce.
@@jayZander It was constantly available, but yes at least in Europe Fierce can only be bought at A&F since 2021 but the recent changes were probably made in 2019 with the new model design. I just happen to buy some Originally Sealed Bottles from 2017/2018 at a parfumery and they definitely smell different to the Batches 2020/2021 I bought this year at A&F. The older one's are much more prominent with the Citrusy-Iso E Super/Hedion at the opening, becomes sweeter and citrusy-fruit later while the modern batches are pretty much that fresh citrusy-green-fir from the beginning with the Iso E Super DNA behind it. Apparently it was and had to be reformulated a couple of times since 2012, but at least for me even the latest batch I have lasts 8 hours in my skin and very strong and projection for a couple of hours according to the girls compliments. But yeah it sure ain't the monster is was born as but still smells good and works as sex in a bottle.
Haven't tried this but have a bottle of PDM Percival which is very similar by all accounts and my favourite. Paid a lot less than retail for on og 2018 bottle though.

Its not discontinued, but A&F made it an exclusive product in europe so usually you will find Fierce and its variations only at A&F stores and their online shops. The bottle has been through some design changes, though since 2004 only the caps have changed and obviously the model was updated/changed at the back multiple times throughout the years. And yes it has been reformulated some times since 2012, not as strong long lasting as it originally was but the great smell remains and at least on my skin it lasts 8h+ though I assume it is a closer skin scent after 6 hours.
Can you make something similar but better as you stated…..I own a bottle of this but would love you to make your version and if like you say it’s discontinued…….you’ve got another winner.

Yeah , got a 200ml of this stuff. Just wish it lasted longer than like 4-5 hours MAX. But it’s a gorgeous timeless scent for men

Wore the originalyears ago. Wife's favourite smell on me. So she's bought this version and loves it still. You've described it perfectly.
Fierce was 2009 for me "sex in a bottle". This one was a hell of a beast fragrance back then. But still love the scent profile

the audio on this is A1 !! it's so spectacular. it could use a tiny bit of de-essing (apply a de-esser), but besides that it is so crispy and amazing

I would love to see you do a review on one of their other great fragrances, Ellwood. One of my all time favorites, unfortunately the last few batches I got smelled like alcohol but the first few I had were divine ❤

Could you do a video about Drakkar Noir? DN is an older fragrance that still has some popularity here in the United States, and I know from reading "The Ghost Perfumer" by Gabe Oppenheim that Drakkar Noir is mainly centered around dihydromyrcenol and (I believe) hedione, which are both mentioned in your review of Fierce. Curly Fragrances made a video on DN, and she loves it, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it. 🙂

Fierce isn't discontinued though for good 😊 it has been apparently through some reformulations since 2012 but the sex in a bottle smell remains, its truly an American Pie and all the teenage party and Sport movies and series, just summer, young, ready to go on adventures, to the beach just live your life day and night 😊

Aaron, so really glad you've covered this fragrance. I've read so many glowing reviews for it, and as you correctly said, pricing is all over the place, and so is availability. Tried looking for decants of this, but none that I could find. So I've held off doing a blind buy. So once again, thank you for this review. Gutted if what you say about it being discontinued is true. Why does this happen to good fragrances? Maybe if it is off the market place, maybe it's something you could aim at creating something similar with your own touch? You could call it 'Fiercer' ;o)

just like any other perfume, I've been told this has been heavily reformulated and it is watered down way too much compared to the first few years of production. this is something many would've smelled in the malls everywhere in the US back in the early 2000s.
Fierce has been around for years. I wonder how many times it has been reformulated. Fierce was one of the first few fragrances that made me fall in love with the fragrance world. Iconic scent, still love it but I’m sure it’s not nearly as good as it use to be

Great video! Does this in any way smell like Dior Homme 2020? I'm looking for something like Dior Homme 2020 but with more punch. Fresh woods masculine with a hint of sweetness in the dry down (to my nose at least) I love it, but it doesn't project how I'd like it to.

Em I doing myself a disservice by getting Mont Blanc Legend EDP? I mean it's an EDP which is better constructed & it lasts longer. A&F FIERCE it's an EDC [Eau de Cologne] so it's not even an EDT. EDC fragrances are like Eau Fraîche fragrances, they lasts 2 to 3 hours max. Not worth it.

Man if it were possible to find you a red letter bottle from 2002-2004 that doesn’t completely ruined top and mid notes I’d send you some of that to try. I had this when it was released and also worked there one season as an opener. We used to spray this everywhere in the store with big Fierce Room Spray bottles that were concentrated enough to the point where it said on the label to not let it come in direct contact with skin haha. Miss it!

For me, for some reason, ATH's Guapo and PdM's Percival smell similar to Fierce, except they're more unique.

First time I smelled Dior Sauvage, back when it came out in 2015, it immediately reminded me of Fierce. I felt like it was just a clone. Side by side I can smell the difference now, but I do still feel like Dior got some inspiration from Fierce.
Can still buy it in the UK.. don't know if that's just while stocks last though

@@jayZander It was constantly available, but yes at least in Europe Fierce can only be bought at A&F since 2021 but the recent changes were probably made in 2019 with the new model design. I just happen to buy some Originally Sealed Bottles from 2017/2018 at a parfumery and they definitely smell different to the Batches 2020/2021 I bought this year at A&F. The older one's are much more prominent with the Citrusy-Iso E Super/Hedion at the opening, becomes sweeter and citrusy-fruit later while the modern batches are pretty much that fresh citrusy-green-fir from the beginning with the Iso E Super DNA behind it.
Apparently it was and had to be reformulated a couple of times since 2012, but at least for me even the latest batch I have lasts 8 hours in my skin and very strong and projection for a couple of hours according to the girls compliments. But yeah it sure ain't the monster is was born as but still smells good and works as sex in a bottle.

Haven't tried this but have a bottle of PDM Percival which is very similar by all accounts and my favourite. Paid a lot less than retail for on og 2018 bottle though.

I still saw it at A&F stores in Frankfurt but probably reformulated as the bottle was different
Its not discontinued, but A&F made it an exclusive product in europe so usually you will find Fierce and its variations only at A&F stores and their online shops. The bottle has been through some design changes, though since 2004 only the caps have changed and obviously the model was updated/changed at the back multiple times throughout the years. And yes it has been reformulated some times since 2012, not as strong long lasting as it originally was but the great smell remains and at least on my skin it lasts 8h+ though I assume it is a closer skin scent after 6 hours.
Can you make something similar but better as you stated…..I own a bottle of this but would love you to make your version and if like you say it’s discontinued…….you’ve got another winner.
