The technology plays some part in it... Where the racket are lighter, more balanced and stronger, and the shuttlecock also more suited to the condition of the court... But indeed.. The style is different... Its faster and stronger now... With all the sport science developed... Of course the bar is raised for every athlete

Carolina came to Rio as 1st seeded status. She is 2014, 2015 n 2018 world champion. We can't deny her dominance. Really bad for that early 2019 ACL injury. If not, I'm sure she will defend her world champion title that year. If she participated in tokyo olympics, I'm also sure she will defend her title although not the 1st seeded. But, unluckily not

For me C.Marin is overrated ... She is a grt player no doubt but she didn't have that X factor ... Look at her games and in the Olympic finals also it was mostly P V mistake she got too nerves , any one who knows badminton will find out , all the points she taken was by pretty average shorts... Look at the game yourself P V was not getting in the centre after her shorts , but have to say that she has a grt positive and self believe mind set , that's why they say ” Mind set matter more than skills ”.

Compare this to all other big nations you will see the difference. Only money goes into cricket mainly and India is very strong in cricket
