I pulled the dash out of my camaro to replace the evaporator. It definitely is a process and quite a pain.
Who needs a dash? super lightweight drag build! You can build a sheetmetal panel for gauges

This video shows the best way to learn for beginners. Not to follow this, but, if you want to learn you just need to go for it and take your time. Realize that you may take a few days to do the work so plan for having another vehicle or taking time off work. Take your time, realize that you will come into snags where you need a special tool or replacement part (in my case it was door clips).
Do some research to find out common issues with the work you are about to do as well. After doing what I wanted, as I said earlier, my door clips were an issue and they broke. I didn't do proper research, but I took time off to account for it.
To learn basics best, do it on a cheap second car. Do some mods and fixes all over. If you fail, which is common, you still have your main car for travel and you will learn from mistakes.
For your info, I took apart the full interior (minus the main dash) of a brand new 21 Camaro a few months after ownership for sound deadening (as I love my audio) and fixing a rattle that the dealer couldn't find/fix.

Just curious have you seen the aluminum fabbed dashes for the fragile dodge ram series 1-5 gen trucks that have shown up on ebay recently in the last few months?! I think that would be a really neat option and I hope that their prices come down some and they start offering more vehicles dash fab application options soon.. and for what it is worth i have taken the 89 gmc Jimmy gypsy dash out of a s15 4x4 Jimmy because it was the digital dash tach option version digital push button climate control and the dash was perfect condition it had the front s 10 truck gmc equivalent bucket seats and door panels except they had gypsy badges and were pwr door lock and window doors so the interior parts in that truck were worth more than trying to fix that truck quarters and doors and front fenders were really rusty...was a 2 dr Jimmy. And I have also pulled the dash out of a 93 c2500 gmc Sierra slx that got wrecked i had it was also a factory tach option ac dash but not digital except the display readout control panel in the gmt400 trucks and removing that dash was a absolute pain in the ass lol

Did ya ever think about a light weight K member to reduce front end weight. Ya have it torn down that far, ya might as well see if you can lighten as well as stiffen the front end.
I have also removed the dash out of gm gbody 80's model cars,full size gm big body full frame 70's and 80's model cars, and two gm square body trucks again that is a guarantee pain in the ass you will be cussing out engineering and the factory dash installers for days lol

i feel yah raquel being the first time removing a dash. I dropped $28,000 on a unique never done before engine build And it was my first time building an engine. Its an all-motor build so no turbos to cover up poor engine build with more boost. And its finally ready to take to the tuner fighting 1 particularly bad oil leak that just did not want to be sealed a rear main. Only to find after removing the trans and oil pan 4 times a piece over the course of several months finding out it was an oil galley plug hidden by the starter spacer on the back of the engine. Hilarious seeing every tuner in phoenix refuse to tune my car because they arent familiar with it. When its basically a unicorn build and NO ONE could POSSIBLY be familiar with it. And better yet 95% of the build was a "first time" experience for me lol. Like wtf pussies.
