Absolutely perfect video - my model, same problem, exact solution. All the tips - taping the top, the trick for removing the top and the console, and removing the valve and wiring - were put to use and got me back in business quickly! Thanks a million!
Awesome. Thanks. Mine was the 3 black rubber grommets below the water valve. I removed the valve and could see the rubber washers were dirty. I cleaned everything, and lubed them with some petroleum jelly. All good. Didn’t need a need valve. Just clean the 3 rubber feet. Try that first. $5 Venmo on the way.
Single mom here and this video was incredibly helpful! I can’t believe I just fixed my own washing machine!!! Thank you so much!

Great video -- thank you very much for the detailed info on how to access the failed water valve and the links for replacement part.
So on the ends of the compartment,, there are springs inside,, you can use a heavy magnet and start from the base towards the outlet, and keep moving it up and down and it breaks the spring free from Hard Water,, it'll save you from having to replace the part. Hope this helps!!
Even though it's plastic, the springs are not stainless, on most of them,, they are metal,, so the magnet will reach the metal and just move it up and down over and over, also I poured some apple cider vinegar in both hoses and plugged them back up and it pushed it through the valves /plastic compartment. And that will help loosen up the solenoids/Springs. This is my second time doing it within 2 years, but more I know the problem and it works. Hard Water will always mess these up, whether it's new or old. Definitely try this before ordering a new one. 👍👍
Excellent video and thank you for posting it. Very easy to follow and you saved me a ton of grief, stress, and most importantly my wife is happy I could fix it and save money!
And 3 days later I’m having the same problem. Can you think of what may be causing the problem?
Me too. Same thing. Did you ever gets yours figured out? Id hate to waste money on another part for no reason with this one being brand new. @johngcsubpar9881

Great video. This helped me fix my washer. I had the same issue. Well done.
Thanks! Solved my leaky Maytag bravos xl. Great video and went step by step with no issues!
looks like you sealed your needle nose pliers were laying on top and you sealed them in when you put the machine back togerther... so if youre looking for your pliers they are in the machine.
Omg I watched the video 3 times to see if he got them out. Great video, hope he didn’t lose his pliers that day.
Great video , I am having the same issue with the same model. I have everything apart. Other than obvious water on the floor. How do I know this water valve is bad? Could it possibly just be loose?
Hey Great Great Video! I Hoped U Just Solved My Problem???? Going To See 👀 Where The Water Is Coming Out From

One comment
When removing the terminals from solenoids, I found it a bit easier to tap on the front edge of the terminals with a flat blade screw drive with the blade pushing on the terminal housing. I think this would prevent accidentally pulling them to hard with the needle nose that could break the wires.
I pulled too hard on one of the plug connectors, and the plastic cover broke away from the copper connection points. So just beware of using too much force when pulling them apart. Be patient.
Thank for posting this easy to follow vdo. In my Bravos XL, the water is leaking and falling inside the tub. Does that mean that this same valve needs to be replaced?
Did you ever figure out?
Hi -- I've watched this video many times trying to figure out where my washer was leaking from. I think I've isolated it to this inlet valve but it's not leaking from the hoses but actually into the actual washer frame itself and then dripping into the white pad below and onto the floor. I took off the back cover and stuck a rag up underneath where the inlet sits and there was quite a bit of water on the rag when it started filling. Would there be any other pieces I need to order/install in addition to the valve if that amount of water is coming out? already checked the drain pump and the hoses and installed new hose clamps and it appears to be functioning properly. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Awesome video, but you forgot your needle nose pliers in the pannel.
Yes, I realize that then I took it apart again and got it. Thanks.💯💯👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, quick question alot of these water valves look the same does the serial number have to be an exact match?
You have to look for the water valve with the model number because a lot of them my look the same but maybe there are not identical so to be on the safe side use the model number to get the right part.
If you have the same exact model number that I have on the description it’s a link for this model on the description of this video
@@DIYRepairsNow Awesome, I ordered the exact match off Amazon. Check your PayPal I told my wife to send you some cash. Thanks again.
@@CHARGER08RT Thank you so much I really appreciate it💯💯👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic video !
My new (aftermarket) one is leaking after 2nd wash. Now what? If I wash a small load it only leaks every 3 or 4 washes. Any ideas? Or is it just junk aftermarket?
Did you get your pliers out of the top cover?
Nope
My washer is dripping inside the wash tub itself. Will replacing the water valve fix that?
Yes
Thank you so much for the help
@@tylerbrindley692 You’re welcome thanks for watching my video💯💯👍🏻👍🏻
@@tylerbrindley692 did this fix your problem?
@@ryanclary2137 yes it did haven’t had an issue since
Your pliers will be there when you get back.
Great video.
I cannot get those clips loose (3:34). Maybe it's a lack of leverage? I'm only 5'1" but that's been the hardest part so far.
Great video but I think you left your needle nose pliers under the control panel.
Yes I notice when I finish recording and I got them😁 thanks for watching my video👍🏻👍🏻💯💯
Matag should pay water damage bill. These washers need a tub under them.
6:44 you forget your pliers under top cover :)
Yes, thanks I notice and I got them out😁👍🏻
I’m trying to start my own business and I’m wondering if you can give me an idea the cost total please I appreciate it
I have a Podcasts section on my channel and I explain how I charge for repairs but for something like this repair I charge between $185 and $245
6:43 into video you didnt take your pliers out before sealing up the machine, good video though, thanks
where the link to the thing I gotta order
Links to This Part are in the Description of This Video.
I replaced but still leaking from soap dispenser plastic tray
Sometimes you need to wait because you think it’s still leaking but it’s just water inside the trade eventually it’s gonna stop if you wait for a while and it’s still leaking. You need to return the defective water valve and install a new one.
@DIY Repairs Now
Oh ok, I was thinking it might be the plastic tray that the water valve goes into. I can see water coming from the bottom of tray.
Mine is leaking into the tub when in the off position.
Did you ever fix this?
@ryanclary2137 yes. I replaced the valve.
Mine is leaking from the center bottom
I have a good video of my 6 year old Maytag washer knocking loud during the wash and leaks on the floor rarely. Can anyone DM me so I can share?? I super appreciate it. I’m a handy guy and know a little about everything so someone who has some knowledge it will help.
OEM only lasted 4 years, may as well buy the generic.
From Our Experience, Some Aftermarket are Built Better than OEM.
Wasn't this covered by 10 year warranty?????
@@frfalbo it’s because that doesn’t exist in real life. There is nothing that is covered by 10 years warranty. They only cover the appliances for one year and then when I said 10 years warranty, it’s only in specific parts which in this case it’s the motor only.
My has water dripping from the router
If it is Leaking From the Rotor, It Sounds like You Need a New Tub Seal, Which is a Complicated Repair. We Recommend Replacing the Washer. However, We have a Video Replacing the Tub Seal on a Maytag Washer Similar to this One, I will Leave it Here For You:

Hope it Helps With your Decision. Thanks For Watching!
You left some needle nose pliers in the washer under the top...
Great video, until I found out the part is over $200. And not even sure that's where the leak is.
There is a link in the description of this video. The part is $45.
😢 Lol.. Seen It For Myself! It's Coming From The "DRAIN PIPE" Indeed! And Suggestions Or Top SOLUTION 🤔 FOR THAT JOB???
good video, but please keep that camera still, its making me diZzy
Why not showEXACTLY where it was leaking ??? Maybe the valve is fixable
Water Valves are Not Repairable, For Your Safety and to Prevent Flooding, They Should be replaced.
You left your needle nose under the cover...
Maytag 2000 please .The washer works but only on “Low” or “Medium” Cycles. On high and ex-high cycles, it leaks.
