Watts estimations, analysis and graphs in this article | lanternerouge.com.au/2022/08/25/jay-vine-destroys-everyone-on-pico-jano-vuelta-a-espana-stage-6-2022/
Is there any reliable indication of what Remco's current weight is? If I understand correctly, the 6.5 W/kg reported in the article means he did 390W for the climb, and then you can slot in his actual weight to get an accurate W/kg?
You should've gone full mid-2010s and gone like "Remco DESTROYS Primoz with PACE and STRATEGY"
Where is plap now?
Biding his time
Why is Vine's power estimated if all his power data is public on strava?
Patented LR Remco pronunciation 😤🥵
Im always impressed by his pronounciation of Dutch and Flemish names.

Ja boykie!
still wrong though.
Rrrrrrrrrrencooooo
If LR does not do some unworldly sounds when one of his predictions come true, we are all disappointed!
finally a review/highlights with energy, not like the GCN, as if someone died everyday
So true. Pat is the goat.
SO SPOT ON!!!!! Hate the GCN commentators - LR is the boss!
Yeah, fortunately in Italian we have good reviews because the dude doing them is a youtuber

03:11 the F1 Esports X Vuelta crossover we didn’t even know we needed. Came for the cycling, stayed for the Jarno Opmeer impression.
😂👌
"....Mario Opmeer...." wait, what?
At first I wasn't sure if he said Jarno Opmeer but eventually he did, but I doubt that a lot of people will get this reference haha

@@seabracing8880 would subscribe
With Remco and Vine gloating on tap, I wasn't sure LR would make it through this one.
It's like all his dreams coming through in a single stage.
More rain in this stage than the entire TdF.
Remco Evenepoel is looking good, but Primoz Roglic is far from over. It's going to be an interesting race to watch.
it's too early of the race, roglic will attack for sure.
Primoz doesn't ride well in the rain
This makes me excited for the rest of the race actually. I think Primoz might hit better form later in the race. He wouldn't have come in after a long training camp after all. Will be interesting to see if it comes down to the wire. Should be exciting.
@@Rughead12319 what about last year when bernal attacked and only roglic could follow and ended up winning the stage?
@@aizins3420 i remember when he couldn't get his jacket on and he lost alot of time..The guy is a bulldog. I'm hoping he comes out swinging
Loving the Jarno Opmeer quotes!
Already excited for the Movistar docu after sandbagging the whole Tour with Mas
Next level tactics from the most tactically astute team for sure.
El Plan
Enric Mas the GOAT will drop everyone in the 3rd week for sure
When you see Remco in the title you know it's going to be a fun video
Hi lanterne! I will be hiking through Andorra on about the 6th of September if you would like I can bring you some cerveza in exchange for a place to watch the vuelta!
Love to see Mas where he is now. Hope he finishes on the podium this year. And Movistar having a season without any controversies? That must be a first!
there’s still time for movistar drama
Doesn’t neeed to look back, he knows what’s happening 😂😂 your recaps by far the best of the industry
Can’t wait to see Roglic fight and claw his way back.
I mean, he’s only down 28. He’s got plenty of stages to make that up. Hell, it’ll likely be made up in one stage.
@@cincydooley I thought he was down 1:01?
You meant inject his way to the podium?
@@cincydooley He'll be down 2 minutes after the TT. Remco will have to have a major 'jour sans' to lose 2 minutes, but ofcourse, as we don't have references, it is entirely possible to happen somewhere in the 3rd week.
@@l.d.t.6327 I don't think Remco is that much of a better TT'er than Roglic if both are on average form
LMFAO! LR with the squeaky "who did he beat?" voice! LOLL!
Yay Jay!
I'm still on team Roglic ♥️
The Remco Race Recap we’ve been waiting for 😍
You and you alone made me start following cycling. Thanks and please keep doing what you do :)
03:13 I never expected an Opmeer reference on a cycling channel lmao, amazing
6.58 w/kg for 30 mins WTF 🥵🥵 Vine and Evenpoel absolutely nuclear performances
You had me at the Opmeer impression. Best LR stage highlights yet.
Thanks for the post race interview snippets. For some reason they never include them on GCN unless you watch the entire stage
Absolute tripple A stage! and summary. the vuelta is still gonna be soo long though; enough tests to find the strongest rider over 3 weeks.
lol the qoute of jarno opmeer mid video had me surprised. great highlights, much more fun to watch
Content continues to be top notch! Great work bro!
Would be cool to hear some of the team radios like they did at tdf femmes
Thank you again! You rock at this!
Thx Maaaaaaaaan for this amazing resume and Coooome One Reeeeeeeeeeeemco
Grand tour stage winner! JV you bloody beauty!
Evanopol was majesting and his confindance level were..he didnt just wait and marking each other...i just felt good and devided to go on his own pace..whoever was up to rhe challenge followed and those who didnt have the legs were droped...that was fantastic...i dont like when riders start to mark each other and there is no actipn and all of them end up arriving in a pack...this time was different
It's the first week so no reason to get too excited about the GC time gaps. Now let's see how Quick-Step handles defending the red jersey.
They could barely break apart the peloton today, Remco is on his own
I think remco will do this every summit fin8sh
I was convinced padun had it in the bag based on the altitude/vam from last year.. but no. And he really tried
Jay Vine is Such a GOAT
Greatest Of All Time? Jay Vine? damn if you aint his wife you are talking bollocks
You should look up the meaning of the word "GOAT", because this makes no sense at all.
I had to pause for a moment when I heard the Jarno Opmeer reference
such quality analysis, thank you
I trust Remco, but not his team in keeping and supporting him for GC.
Remco is the strongest and the dumbest rider in the peleton. I trust Remco to ride himself into the ground again
Remco has proven in his career that he can ride incredible for a day or even a week. So far he hasn't proven that he can ride consistently for 3 weeks. This might be the grand tour to prove it, but it could also be the tour to prove that he can't.
@@beckobert There's also no evidence that he can't ride for 3 weeks. That Giro simply cannot count into anyone's equation, he was still coming back from a horrendous Lombardia crash. He's leaner and in better shape than ever, I don't think he's gonna have any problems outside of maybe Sierra Nevada, before which he'll probably still have over a minute to Rog and several minutes to the rest. He's not the same rider as he's been in his first couple of seasons and I truly mean that
Maybe Quickstep need to find a super domestique for the mountains.
Perhaps Jay Vine could be had at a good price.
But I think Alpecin already extended his contract.
@@yvestrembleau2396 they did transfer jan hirt or louis meintjes i'm not sure
Great! Love the pronunciation of Remco's name! Thanks!
Seems like Jumbo need to ask some bedroom DS’s how to set the tactics for the Vuelta 😅
Jay Vine from Strava winner to La Vuelta stage winner absolutely amazing
Roglic hates cold and rain. He always seem to suffer in that weather.
That's why you go fast and get inside as quickly as possible!😁
And "destroyed" Roglič brought whole Ineos, Bora and others to the finish...great day by Remco, but can he keep doing this for 3 weeks?
I think he has a big one coming on the summit finish tomorrow. He will get 2 minutes on everyone and then consolidate a la froome
LR really namedropped Jarno🤣
3:30 Naw, Almeida is trying to trade a banana for another sandwich.😜
Destroying a pack by rythm is the most beatiful thing in cycling
The patented RRRRRRRRRemco EEEEEEEEEvenePOEL
I'm sure primoz is exactly where he wants to be. He didn't let the time blow out and they gave up the red yesterday. I'm sure jv will let quickstep cook its team, isolate remco and drop the threat permanently in the second week.
Bingo. Agreed. He’s only down 28. Hardly anything.
Mas is down 28, Roglic down 1:01
@@cincydooley the title a bit deceiving...remco destroys roglic...easy now lr, just cause vine won a stage think it through
@@joshbingaman2334 I bet jv weren't expecting mas to do so well. He's probably in the best position but definitely needs a strong team around him if he gets in red.
you don't 'give' a potential winner of this race a free minute. Roglic probably is underprepped or just doesn't have it anymore to follow a 6.5W/kg effort for 30 minutes.
I predict Remco will get another minute after Tuesday's TT on Roglic.
I think Roglic can easily come back from this. It’s still early in the race and anything can happen.
@Philip Onen he is just back of an injury
Well done! Jay.
Wasn't expecting the Jarno reference at all xD
Vine and Remco just got lucky, they chose good parent's
Come for Remco, stay for the Jarno Opmeer mention.
can't wait to see Jay Vine's corvette!!!
Whatever happens next for remco, doesn´t matter. He made a statement with this. The thing is, in belgium, the guy gets a lot of hate.. from letters to online ´shit´. He was second here, and belgium people were laughing, cause he didn´t win.
If he ends up loosing the jersey, which is a possibilty, he will get hate again. That´s sadly how this belgium so called fans are. But great stage from vine and remco. Vuelta is far from over. But I think remco has a chance. 😁
It's not just the Belgians. Just ask Enric Mas... 😓
@@paminafernandezcamacho920 sadly true.
L-O-S-E, not loose.

Mas is a package and Remco is a supertalent
Remco Evenepoel: ´I hope it will turn some question marks into an exclamation mark.´ You shure did Remco !!!
he talks as if he already won the vuelta lmao
what the hell is an explanation mark? lol
@@paminafernandezcamacho920 hahaha it's when you explain somethin really well and you get a score for it i guess
@@sth6027 then I guess he got a good one yesterday. 😁
@@sth6027 well he did
In my opinion, destroy is not the right word. Depends on one's objective. La Vuelta is just getting started. Let's see if Evenepoel keeps up that pace. I believe he couldn't. Roglic's goal is to win without wearing out too much. He will act at the right time.
he will have to act at the right time... he just got 1:20. 😂 If dropping the WHOLE GC group just with pace, without a single acceleration, at what was most likely 6,5w/kg in a long rainy day is not "destroying" the field, than I do not know what one has to do.
@@danieletognozzi7641 You don't know, eh? Well, here's a clue: you have to be prepared to do it every day. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
@@MikeAG333 And there is the next domestique explaining me how the sport I follow since Pantani´s masterpiece in 1998 works. Any other insight to offer today? Please tell me how to make lasagne too.
great recap
Rogliq hopefully just had a bad day in the cold rain, as for Carapaz well that's a whole other thing.
Hahaha great Opmeer impersonation :p
Reeeeeemcooo eeeeevenepoel
Destroyed? I have to disagree. Remco put a mark on his back with the red jersey, everyone will attack him now and as we could see, QuickStep isn’t strong on climbs. I feel like even if Roglic was not top notch on this stage this was more tactical than anything else. That one minute just seems so calculated and he was leading, pacing, was not falling behind after a certain point.
I think JV just knows how to play his cards on a grand tour and gave up the position on purpose.
i agree with you..lol
well now its about to get real for Remco. He can do one week. And lets see the other 2.
His base is much bigger and some of his acceleration is gone. I think he can last.
@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 Its going to be interesting, thats for sure.
Please confirm interview Jay Vine on next rest day 🙏
Poor Roglic, he's completely "destroyed" 😂
😄love the pronunciation at the beginning!
This changes everything, not just another jumbo visma domination
Lol. Does it?
Hopefully
'Remco Evenepoel DESTROYS Primoz Roglic'
Fred Wright: 'Hold my beer'
that jarno opmeer quote lol
What could Remco do to someone like Pogacar and Vingegaard?
Looking at the watts, this performance was pretty on par with what Pogacar and Vignegaard achieved in the Tour. Of course, it's difficult to say if he would be able to do this over three weeks, but I guess we'll know that soon enough.
Vingegaard tdf performances were in hot conditions after extremely hard stages and granon was to altitude, it was higher level than this
@@LanterneRougeCycling Thank you for the reply!
@@LanterneRougeCycling of course Remco has been riding in 40°C for a whole month now in prep for the Vuelta, maybe we will see the same from Remco in later stages , then we can begin to speculate I think
Do they even make Corvettes for countries that drive on the wrong side of the road?
Looks fucking cold. Wet. Miserable. Awesome. Looks like JA is doing his job as requested/demanded.
Ow yeah Jay Vine!!!! My Man
Go Remco!
Another Opmeer reference. Collab soon 👀
He quotes jarno opmeer 3:15 😂😂
Uh oh, Lanterne Rouge, the uncharacteristic Remco-Gloating is in full swing. Binge my boy, BINGE!
6:48
1:33 wonder why Remco has aero handlebars and Alaphilippe has the regular round one
After breaking his wrist in the Tour of Flanders 2020, Alaphilippe has been riding round bars with more tape on top for comfort.
@@l.d.t.6327 thanks!
I was gutted when Primoz crashed out, but with the results of this stage, there is no doubt that Remco deserved the GC win.
gotta to love it
Why is the footage from the vuelta so washed out? There isn’t the same colour as other tours. And even on the dry stages
Remco sends a message, that message is... I go all in full gas also i might not remember is a 3 week race I might not have tank for 3 weeks but I don't want to lose the chance to see myself in full red ... I hope my sarcasm is well documented and maybe I am wrong But at this pace and rate of change explosive style from all riders Remco will not make Madrid in red ... is nice to see fire works right and left ... Tao Ayuso Almeida Hinndle Kelderman a few more seem to have a pace and a mind to last the whole 3 weeks they might recall this is just the begin. and is about how does this ends, any recalls 2019 pandemic giro... just saying.
Ayuso blew up today? He was within 20s of Remco and finished 45s down on him.
@@sean7098 i think they’re saying the other riders are playing smart, not blowing up. You make the same point 👍
Remco just took the opportunity of feeling good. Why would he hold back now? Every time you can take time in a way that you are the one setting the pace, it's a good ride that doesn't make you crack in the 3rd week. It's the other riders who had to go deeper than they would have wanted, not the one riding in the front (Remco in this case). Now he can ride more conservative.
So good
Someone got very excited here 😆
I am really interested to see how Ineos will go about trying to win this Vuelta now. I think Sivakov might be the one they try to do it with but with his record of crashes and terrible luck they definitely need all their cards available.
They won't. They have no idea what to do with numbers, like in the Tour
The race is long way at the later stage Roglic will attract
🏎 🏎 🏎
This thumbnail reminds me of some other thumbnail from this summer...
Sends a message to the... Hayters.. Ha 🙈
champion Remco!!!
Rogla hates the heat. Rogla hates the rain. Rogla will rest up tonight, and be in red again!
It is NOT pronounced "Welta". Spaniards pronounce "V" as a soft "B", so the pronunciation is approximately "bWelta". Please, listed to a Spaniard saying it. It just sounds ridiculous when you (and others) murder the word.
Hey Roglic was 4 minutes down and now he is only 1 something so I don’t see the big deal. Jumbo Visma!!
That doesn't matter. What matters is Evenepoel beat Roglic by 82 seconds on a mountain stage. If Evenepoel continues like this, he will win the Vuelta. Most people believe this unlikely; that's why there's no panic. But this also shows why Jumbo didn't bother chasing too hard yesterday, assuming that conceding 4 minutes to that group of riders wasn't going to matter. It didn't.
It's 4 minutes down on a non-GC guy vs. 1 minute down a GC guy who is actually good at TT for once.
@@paminafernandezcamacho920 he will take time on the TT for sure, especially if there is a lot of wind that day.
@@tommytommy7535 Idk, at the same time I'm not 100% sure Roglic's TT capabilities can be so easily dismissed as people seem to think. With Roglic and TT you never know if you are going to get the best or the worst 😅
@@paminafernandezcamacho920 I know, but i am confident in Remco's his time trial ^^

GO JAY VINE!!!!!! BOOM!!!!! CHAMPION!
Lance ran out and got an Acura NSX right after winning 1993 worlds. Fun fact
better choice than a Corvette
Remco could have gone way faster. He wasnt even gassed coming across the line.
At almost 6.6W/kg for 30 minutes, I highly doubt he could have done much more, those are incredibly high numbers
Great ride hope he’s not jumping the gun
Roglic is just saving his batteries for week 3
E bikes are banned tho.
As in his body energy
We belgians had to wait 60 years for a great new tour rider ! But what I dont like , everyone forgets Remco had a big accident and was falling down a cliff more then 10 meters below. Lucky he survived this fall ! but he was verry badly injured. that moment he alreddy did great things on his bike. He had to recover from his wounds , and had to start back all over from 0 . Now this natural born bike talent is almost back to his old form. So it is a half mirakel he is on the bike again! Everyone forgot this and told he can not go with the best in the high mountens , now he proved they where all wrong. You all encouriged him by telling this things ;-) . he is now on 90% but he must be 100 to beat pogacar. The best tour rider now is still pogacar .
