Remember when Doug Ford tried to open up some unused vacant land for residential housing in Hamilton? Hamilton fought tooth and nail against it under the argument that there was available land within the city they could use. Well, if that land is there, and under municipal control, where's the new houses? Why haven't they done anything with the acres of vacant land within the city? Nope, the city is just happy sitting on their land waiting for inflation and the highest bidder to come along so they can charge the highest possible rates on property tax. Remember the absolutely disgusting handling of the new stadium? The city bought and bulldozed several lots within the city under the premise of using it for the new stadium. Only to build it in the same goddamn spot and all that bulldozed land has been sitting EMPTY for almost a decade now. Crooks.

Had France not destroyed them with war reparations everyone else said were too harsh, had old Winston not been a war mongering drunk, and had countries surrounding Germany like Czech and Poland not oppressed, starved, and killed German people who ended up within their borders following the WWI land carve up, and simply allowed those people and lands to return to Germany proper when AH asked, offering very favorable conditions for both sides that most level headed leaders around the world thought quite reasonable, he wouldn't have had to resort to force. And once he did, Britain declared war. And even if on the winning side, they came out of that war no longer a world power and lost their empire. Not much better off than defeated Germany, really.

Most of the National Housing Plan money is being used (or will be used) by municipalities to build physical infrastructure (drainage, roads, bridges, utility conduits, water & sewerage pipes) to support private-sector home development projects. So the actual number of NEW residential homes still depends on building permit approvals. If the municipal approvals for these projects are not provided, or if the these housing projects are viewed as risky by the bankers for the builders or by prospective home buyers, Fraser's housing targets will not be achieved. The most recent metrics reveal the worst of these caveats.
We need more rights as Canadians than just a vote when dealing with such a corrupt government. This should never happen

A household of $250k would have to save for 8 years to come up with a down payment for an uninsureable mortgage. However the average household would require 25 to 30 years to achieve the same. This government doubled housing and doubled rents and doubled the federal dept (which took over 150 yrs. to accumulate) in only 8 years. What an achievement without any value to Canadians.

With a decent job (relative med-high wage) and a 20% downpayment one should be able to pay off a modest dwelling within 5-10 years. Any mortage longer than that suffers from high interest rates and any financial instability, recession in the markets will stress first time home buyers giving rise to speculation and will always spiral out of control into the current bubble.
