- Super Password Bonus Round. Patty Duke is giving the clues. The contestant is playing for $45,000 which is the 3rd highest jackpot offered. Did they succeed? Watch as they go down to the wire. Hosted by Bert Convy.
This episode is the aftermath of a "Testimony incidient."
This is the Best show of super password. WOW
AND all super passwords. Are good. We Love this show with
handsome BERT
Just read her book, published posthumously by a friend, and Patty Duke loved doing game shows. It’s too bad she wasn’t super busy acting, because she was a great actor, but it’s good to know how much she loved doing these. And she was good at it. RIP dear Anna.
The legitimate excitement and joy of both Patty and Bert for this contestant win shows how wonderful they both were.
How precious was that? Patty was crying. God bless her!
Patty Duke is a very caring, sympathetic person. You can see that she was just as emotional for winning as the guy was! Is she still alive? I wonder what she's up to now if so.
i'm pretty sure she is. I saw her as Madame Morrible in the San Francisco production of "Wicked" even met her at the stage door after the sghow and told her she was better than Carole Shelly
Lawrence Crowley She died about a year ago.
anyone remember "The Patty Duke Show"?
@@phyllisarrington7436 I do
I use to watch it in reruns on Pat Robertson's CBN (now Freeform) and later Nick @ Nite and thisTV
No she passed away
And that is why we love her, did you see her face when he won? She really was excited for him. Patty Duke is the most awesome!!!
You would never know that Bert Convy was one year older than Rip Taylor.
Patty gives out $45,000 and the most Rip's every given away was $1.98
Starts Crying! was Patty Duke!
Clue for "bosom": "Buddies."
I would have never thought of that. Great clue
At first I thought, wow, this guy is really slow. But then by the end I realized that the reason he was slow is that he was probably still thinking about what Patty had said for B. Good for him!
Bosom is a tough word to get. He probably was thinking about it, but somehow it came to him. I know I wouldn’t have thought of it lol
@@thomasbranham4374 Me either 😃
No disrespect to Allen Ludden, but part of the reason why I didn’t care for this bonus round on “password plus“ was because Allen would always shout the next letter; Bert is not only calm when he says the letters, he almost whispers them, as though he wants the contestants to know how close they are to the jackpot, but also doesn’t want to distract them.
I think Tom Kennedy may also have been that way on Password Plus in Alphabetics.
It was rare to see $40,000 and $45,000 wins on Super Password. It didn't happen that often.
R.I.P. Patty Duke
Patty's the best!
RIP Party.
Patty and Bert
The modern day Super Password, just like $100,000 Pyramid of a buzzer beater with :01 second.
$76K was Jim Bontempo's final total, not $84K. The TofC from February 1985 is currently being run on GSN. It was in conjunction with an $otC TofC and Scrabble $otC running concurrently on NBC. WOF didn't do a TofC, but did do a 10th anniversary week of shows, IIRC having past WOF champions in the audience. Time Machine celebrated February 1985 with the format change from solo players to the head-to-head player format.
Patty Duke passed away last April
Jim Bontempo won a Lexus on Squares in 1999 after his record-setting SP win.
YEEEEEEESSSSS! I was saying the same thing when I saw this.
they need to do a tribute to patty duke on antenna-tv channel 187 on tv she was a good actress
Is it me or does that guy opposite of Patty look a lot like Dave Coulier?
Not quite -- it's a shell of its former self. The only resemblance to the old Password is the main game. Allen Ludden and Bert Convy are spinning in their graves, and wherever Tom Kennedy is, he ain't happy.
Million Dollar Password is a little disappointing to me, as my favorite part of the game, the "Alphabetics" bonus round, was scrapped in favor of a multi-stage bonus game.
Million Dollar Password would've worked the best if it was branded as Ultra Password or something. The contestant and a celebrity guest had to play eight "Alphabetics" bonus rounds, getting 10 words in 60 seconds. If they did so, they would always be granted the option to stop or go on. After the eighth round, the player would win $1,000,000. A final bonus round would be played if the contestant chose to go for it. In this final bonus round, the contestant would have two minutes to go through the entire alphabet A-Z. If the contestant completed that task, s/he would win a jackpot which would start at $10,000,000 and go up by $1,000,000 every time until it was won. Would that have worked?
@@tomdalfonzo9959Million Dollar Password was interesting because the contestants had to play standing up. No sitting across from each other at that huge trapezoid desk.
tell me that guy doesn't look like Joey Gladstone from full house
He doesn’t.
The shocked look on Anna's face is priceless I love seeing her so happy :)
How could a guy not get excited looking at Patty Duke
The Queen....Patty Duke
Stupid auto correct. Patty, play this in the spirit world will ya?
I believe this was the day after the "wig" incident, am I correct??
Yes.....
The “wig” incident? Would it be safe to bet THAT had to do with Rip Taylor?
@2themoon863 You haven't seen it? It's one of the most legendary bloopers in game show history. After Patty, mistakenly said the password, Rip, ripped his wig off, waving it at the camera saying "that's not fair!" It was a big deal at the time as it was the first time on network TV that Rip removed his wig.
Wow 1 second
i wasnt going to touch that last one
If the illegal guy the end game, Jim could've been playing the end game for, I believe $100,000.
TESTIMONY
Very close win; got it just as the clock went to 01!
@DrLove0378 I disagree with you, Million-Dollar Password was a good remake!
well, rip had the $1.98 Beauty show, that's why I mentioned that.
She should have shouted "boobies boobies everywhere" like Neely...then maybe he might have gotten it quicker.
