I'm Vietnamese and I grew up with all of these. Asian jerky tends to be thicker, more tender, slightly sweet, and more wet because it's been marinated before being dried. I LOVE dried squid and pork floss. My family always keeps pork floss in the fridge to eat with rice for the times when you have no time or ingredients.
I feel like as a kid I liked maybe half of these snacks. The half I wasn't a big fan of are the ones that aren't strong in flavor like the crackers, wafers, and "rice krispie treats" but now that I'm an adult, I learned to enjoy more subtle flavors and I enjoy all of them. 😊
Lol!!! In our viet American home we grew up with the pork floss too; my grandma/mom would always feed us that with rice when they couldn’t come up with a meal. Wasn’t my fav either, but my sister loved it. Now my sons love it.
I've made pork floss before, it's similar to making jerky but you basically completely dry out the pork, I've also made beef floss which my buddy often called pocket beef because we would keep a bag in our pocket
Dried cuttlefish is differnt than dried squid. Dried squid is usually rolled flat and has a really sweet taste to it, but still smells a little fishy. Good non the less, perfect road trip food!! Try the chinese premium beef jerkt that comes in a red/gold box I believe....super good!!
I think ive had something similar to that pork floss But it as in a tobacco like can, it felt like hair but there was a lot of flavor and it just melted in your mouth It was good, don't remember what it was called
The cuttlefish has an oval body and is somewhat flat, the squids are longer and more cylindrical. Another difference between squid and Cuttlefish is their size. Cuttlefish can measure up to 16 inches, while the squid is usually 24 inches in length.
Seems similar to the jerky they put in a canister that looks like a chewing tobacco can. It's delicious and kinda hair like just not as shredded... Now I'm hungry uh
the "giant rice crispies" in this video aren't actually made from rice, I don't think. There's another kind that's actually made of rice, popped rice basically, formed into squares with syrup too, sweeter and crispier than the type here, which I personally prefer :D
Another thing you forgot to mention Case is that Chinese people like putting MSG into their savory snacks. My grandma used to have a jar of it and would put it into every dish she cooked. It was ridiculous. But, I related to everything in the video.
I love you two you guys remind me of my best friend and her boyfriend having been together so long they tend to share one brain cell similar to you guys.

The pork floss looks like machaca in Mexico but I believe machaca is made from beef instead of pork. It's actually pretty good 😊
I love the pork “hairs”!! I personally can eat buckets of it by itself but you should definitely try it in a bao form or in porridge!! ❤️
yup yup~

I'm Cambodian American and pork floss was a staple in our house growing up! When it is combined with rice and soy sauce, it was a "complete" meal lol
I’m a New Zealand born Chinese Cambodian & same but instead of rice it was always porridge (congee) lol

Pork floss on a sweet bun with a bit of nori shred is amazing. Looks like something behind the sofa, taste great xD
Throw chili powder into the pork floss into some rice. As a kid we called it “carpet meat” also the red label is 🔥
The dried pork floss was my fav as a kid. I used to call it cat hair 😂 I could literally eat the whole thing in one sitting with some sticky rice.

I love pork floss. I eat it with rice and congee

didnt know pork floss was a snack....always thought it was a condiment
dried squid and jerky are better for car rides than the other stuff cuz they don't flake everywhere, haha
keep going with these series! 😆

The dried pork goes better with congee!
🇺🇸 pork floss with rice is good . Dry squid with hot sauce ads a kick.

Garden brand wafers is better. TS Emporium has them. And pork sung/floss is best in congee.
I love you two you guys remind me of my best friend and her boyfriend having been together so long they tend to share one brain cell similar to you guys.
