I got this album when I first moved to San Francisco and all of the songs on it gave me a wonderful feeling of California to sink down into. The summer before I moved here, we'd gone to the Philadelphia Folk Festival and she was featured. California Zephyr is another favorite.
It's ironic, or tragic, or something that THIS album, arguably her finest, is the one Mary McCaslin record that is out of print and virtually unobtainable. I hate the music business.
+Karen Sue : you can have cassettes transformed to mp3's or other formats easily! There are many people that do this; just do a google search. It's well worth it for our most loved music on cassette. I bought something I could hook up to my old stereo equipment that did the transfer as it also hooked up to my computer at the same time. If you don't have that kind of equipment, then for sure pay a service to do it. Well worth it.
Well, how about it, Greg? Any chance you could transfer all her albums to mp3's we can purchase and download? Would LOVE to be able to do that! Thanks for uploading these for posterity.

I came from New England and yes, this helped me settle here.
How did you come to know of the band California Zephr?
This would be great to hear when making the final approach into SFO.
San Diego State Folk Festival, and Old Time Music Cafe in Leucadia, with Jim Ringer. Timeless wonderful memories. wonderful music that never gets old.
