@88kwthomas if you just install the designed fitting for that pipe it's a cheaper and b will most likely last longer so say what you want but I can guarantee if you were going to build a house from scratch you aren't using shark bites so what does that say
Hi there👋 PEX tube liners are built into our first-generation fittings, but are not included for SharkBite Max since it is no longer required per ASSE 1061.
@@SharkBitePlumbing If I want to connect cooper to pex, and my unit has a collar on one side and no collar on the other side. What side is for the two different pipe/tube.
Would anyone recommend this for external use on a pipe like pipe going to outdoor sprinkler system? What would the cold weather elements do to that? Or would soldering be preferred in that case?
They sell removal tools dirt cheap. Or if you need one asap find a washer that can fit over the pipe and cut a slot into the washer big enough to slide over the pipe and press against the white insert sticking out of the fitting. At the same time as pressing it pull the fitting away to remove it
Hi Joseph - Yes! Even plastic pipe can have sharp edges or burrs that can damage the o-ring in the fitting. We always recommend deburring the pipe - no matter which type you're working with - to ensure a proper, secure connection.
You know what the previous homeowners used shark fittings. Guess what? It gave out, and now I have about 4-5k of water damage. Not including getting mold prevention.
I guess the deburring tool which also was useful as a depth gauge is now misleading since the depth has now increased
Best way to install it is to not install it
Your dumb
They don’t leak if installed correctly. So much false info bro
Just another person trying to jump on the bandwagon

Don’t you have to de burr the inside as well?
If I were to use this fitting and install a 1/2" spigot valve, would want to rotate on the pipe when turning the valve on/off?
Valve should be secured
What about the white peg insert? Is it important? Just put one on and saw that I have white pegs in the bag.

Use pipe made for sprinklers systems
@@jeffwinterfeldt5705 You have just stated the obvious but didn’t really answer my question.
No I would not recommend..these fittings are trash and made to break.
@@thadiamondcutta thanks for the reply. I felt that might have been the case but needed confirmation.
Is fitting the shark bite something you only have one shot at?
no they come on and off no problem

Do I deburr a PVC pipe?

my homes previous owner used copper and its all rotting and leaking as well....
No issues after years using SharkBites in my home. It's likely they didn't deburr the pipe ends first.
Good
