I'm watching this video on Thanksgiving needing a good tart cherry pie recipe and I believe I found it. Thanks for the detailed video. I was able to get the ingredient measurements down watching the video. I usually use store bought pie crust, shame on me but you have me thinking hard on making the butter pie crust. Looks amazing. I have Door County tart cherries my husband and I picked (he went up the ladder) in the freezer waiting to be used in a pie. Very excited to start making pies. Thank you.
Oh I am excited to have your video here to watch!! Cherry Pie is my absolute favourite, but what comes from the stores is garbage!! I cook from scratch all the time, but I am fixing to take notes while watching you here.
I love your idea of shredding the butter!!! I always find chunks of butter when I make recipes like rolls. I’m curious, would you do some videos about what you can and how you do it? That would be fun to see.
Yes I have a whole bunch of classes planned but oh boy--I dread having to film. Canning is a messy process and I always think it's a good idea to film it until I think of all the extra work but I'll try!
Hi! Does anyone know how much grams are the butter sticks? I’m a little bit lost! Wanna make this for my best friend’s birthday so I don’t want to mess it up😅
Hmmm...I don't think it will mix. But usually when you do cream cheese in the bottom it will be a blend of things--cream cheese, sugar and likely an egg so it's more like a cheesecake base.
@@FeastandFarmCooks I'm not sure. I had to stop making it for a few years. I started cooking when I was 7, making bread and pastries, but then I had 3 after school jobs and 7 hours 9d homework every night, so I had no time for baking until I was in my mid 20s, and when I tried to make pie crust again, I couldn't. Everything else, no problem, just pie crust
Just a side note: You listed Amazon as a link to buy canned cherries. Have you looked at the price on Amazon? $9.95 + shipping to $28.97 shipping included per CAN. WOW!!!
Canned cherries are $3 or so each at the grocery store. I was simply trying to provide a starting point for folks to buy from and Amazon doesn't update us on price changes (it's probably coming from a third party shipping company). I'll see if I can find a better source for ordering. --Rachel
@@FeastandFarmCooks Not your fault. I was making fun of Amazon, I always check else where before I order from Amazon. I've seen the kind of outrageous prices before on Amazon.
Good part of the video's demonstration has wrong angle and audience can't see exactly what you were doing, but only using the best imagination to understand. The video shooting from the top like you did in the last part of the video would be a lot more helpful.
Good information, but I'm surprised that you suggested using aluminum foil when, according to what I've read, it's cooking with aluminum foil that has contributed to the cause of Alzheimer's. No thanks, but thank you for sharing the rest of the information of how-to's.
You'll find a range of videos on this channel that span the scope of my learning and development. I do still use foil to shield a pie but I use a layer of parchment paper between it and the food first. You have to understand that not every video you see here is up to date with my journey and that's just part of my story.
I love this cherry pie. My mom made them all the time when she was younger.
Beautiful pie, lovely video presentation. Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
BEST CHERRY🍒PIE EVER!!! Thanks for the GREAT CHERRY🍒PIE recipe!!!
Happy Cherry Pie Day 😋👊
Keep Up The Good Work 😎
Was it Cherry Pie Day Byron?! Man! I missed it. LOL.
One more thing, I had never grating butter🧈for pie crust before and I will definitely continue doing it!!! GREAT TIP!!!!
I'm so glad it worked well for you!
I love your baking style! I'm making this pie tomorrow!! Thanks!!!
Hello from Lexington, North Carolina!💓 I love watching you. With everything you've been through and live with daily...you're AMAZING!!

Oh I hope you loved this pie Denise! It's my favorite. :)
Thank you so much! I am not a baker at all but I will try!

My favorite too! I hope you like this video!
I love my cherry pie to have a slight tart taste. Great recipe!
Thanks! I like all of my fruit desserts to be a little tart. :) It's a nice contrast.
I love tart Cherry pie
So happy to watch your videos again! You are a delight. I love baking pies, & I will be grating my butter from now on. Best wishes to you!
Thank you Linda!

A stick of butter here in the US is 8 tablespoons or a 1/2 cup. You can Google that amount in grams.
Your baking is much better than Martha Stewart! I followed her in the 80’s and 90’s.. Thank you for your great recipes❤️
Oh boy we all followed her then I think. ;) Thank you for the compliment. I'm a tad more laid back than Martha I think!
Could I add cream cheese at the bottom? Will it all blend and mix once it bakes? I’m trying to copy the concept of Stan’s cherry cream cheese pocket.
Hmmm...I don't think it will mix. But usually when you do cream cheese in the bottom it will be a blend of things--cream cheese, sugar and likely an egg so it's more like a cheesecake base.
I am using frozen cherries, not much juice. I don’t have apple juice. Is there anything else I can use?
These cherries were in water. You can use that and continue with the recipe. Apple juice would have made it too sweet anyway. :)
Do you have an apple pie recipe
I don't remember if it's here, but it's definitely on my website! feastandfarm.com
The note for fresh cherries doesn't mention adding the liquid but you do in the video. What is the best way?
Fresh cherries won't have any juice. They'll let that out as they cook and it will thicken.
Can you use a pizza cutter to cut strips?
Yes!
I make my cherry pie like you but I also put cinnamon in it lol.
ginger spice and cardamom 🍒🌸🍒🌸🍒
You are amazing
How are you doing? I heard about your story that you shared on here and you look great!🙏
I'm doing GREAT! Making great strides and getting better and better every month!
@@FeastandFarmCooks That's so good to hear!
I need almond extract now!!!!
I used to make great pastry. Not so much anymore. It never works properly for me these days. Ill try this out and aee what happens
What do you think changed?

BEaUTIFUL!.
I'm allergic to red dye , I get the worst migraines when I have it 😫 even the smallest little bit , I just get so sick .
It's a major issue! No one should be eating that 😳. My daughter has severe issues with it as well so we cut all of it out more than 15 years ago.
Some people only have store bought butter 😏

Sure! That would work--I don't own one though. I keep very few gadgets to do what a knife will. :)

Yep and it would have helped if I had remembered to press record on my overhead camera. Trust me, no one was more irritated by that than me.

Too much talking young lady.😁😁😁😁😁
Ah thank you! It's such a privilege to be able to teach others so they can stand independently in their own kitchens. ❤️
Heard of a volume button? Captions?
@@FeastandFarmCooks I loved the talking in the kitchen. Dont stop. Ever heard of a kitchen witch? LOL
She did a wonderful job breaking down everything and explaining without going overboard, she talked just enough bro.
