- We have all came across reports about how hospitals were running out of Oxygen resulting in mass deaths in various parts of our nation when the second wave of COVID-19 was at its peak in the month of April-May. We take you Inside the Horror of one such Hospital - Jaipur Golden Hospital in India's capital. In a special series - 'Breathless in the City' we are trying to chronicle the ordeal of the families of the People Behind the Numbers and ask: Who Will take accountability for deaths that many doctors have said amount to culpable homicide.?
On the 24th of April 2021, 25 patients were reported dead after the Hospital's Oxygen Supply was stopped. In our third episode in this series, Barkha Dutt talks to Shalu Kataria who lost her husband Dinesh, only 41-years-old, that very day in Delhi's hospital. She said that she met Dinesh that very day and he was fine. She blames the Modi government, the Delhi government and the hospital's administration for her husband's death.
Jaipur Golden Hospital declines comment when we reached out for their response.

Deaths have happened in every country each and everyone on this planet has lost a known person....so understand her hidden agenda..why only defame india...what about Europe and America..they have lost more life's...why doesn't media highlights that... situation was bad...but instead of showing negative and fear mongering she should show positivity
Cheeky Koul: True , this people have lost loved ones everywhere but can you not so the mammoth failure of the Indian govt. in providing relief to those struck by this tragedy? And the govt in India has mismanaged the whole thing . For eg. We don't see the massive failure of the govt. in procuring oxygen . Also , if they had organised a better vaccination programme this tragedy could have been minimised. Barkha is only showing the truth. Imagine the anguish of this young mother. Who is going to provide her with relief both emotional and practical.

Hospital should inform the patient family about the shortage of oxygen beforehand...its their fault.. so many family suffer because of their irresponsibility

Very sad. This has become the story of every other Indian family. The loss is colossal. Bachon ko sab samajh mein aata hai.These are scars that will be etched lifelong in their psyche.This is what we have given and bequeathed to our children in 2021. We need a more sensitive and caring system and administration. We need the Corporate Houses, the NGO's and the common people to adopt these families as part of their CSR initiative. Subscribtion to electoral bonds can wait.

In 2017 India ran out of oxygen. I have no idea why and how it happen again! The governments of all these states in India and especially Modi, are so incompetent, that they didn't learn from the past 2017. I can't imagine getting turned away from several hospitals when I'm in the middle of trying to breath. Just terrible.

@@sarsonsar0 Gorakhpur, BRD Medical college. 60 children died. Dr Kafeel arrested by chodi chuddakkadnath. Dr Kafeel arranged for 250 cylinders on that day from his pocket to save children's life.
So government knew everything about oxygen shortage, and gives a shit about us Hindu's lives. At least Congress feared public anger.

This really makes me cry I can see hopelessness in her children eyes . Allah Tallah give her and her kids strength . As a physician I can tell her husband died secondary to pulmonary embolism . Her husband should have started on heparin COVID very commonly causing embolism . We all Pakistanis are with our Indians brother and sisters .

BiPAP is also a type of ventilation,more specifically non invasive ventilation. Also, this is the most heartbreaking story I've heard. If she gets no help from the government a crowdfunding campaign can be started.
