  • Thank you very much for watching and I hope you enjoyed the video! Here are my thoughts on the day below:
Matchday 5 of the Scottish Championship season saw Queen’s Park take on Dunfermline Athletic at Hampden Park.
A game in which I thought would be played at Lesser Hampden but due to unforeseen circumstances, The Spiders are currently playing at their former home until work is completed.
Queens’ we’re hoping to bounce back to winning ways after losing back to back games, which came after a promising winning start of 3 out of the opening 3 encounters (this included a victory against Arbroath which was pushed forward due to both teams being inactive in the League Cup)
For The Pars, their return to the second tier saw a modest 5 points on the board. This was their first season back after two spent in League One. Now under the leadership of James McPake.
Not a whole lot to talk about in the opening 45 minutes with a cagey affair in Southside. It was in the second half where things got interesting with Ben Summers cutting the ball back to Lewis McCann who’s shot was first swooped into the air by goalkeeper Callum McKenna then nicked in off of the post. The Pars lead.
15 minutes later and McCann doubled his tally for the match with a lovely free kick from 30 yards out which put the Spiders right under the cosh. They didn’t create a whole lot for the rest of the game when the pressure was on and overall didn’t make enough of an impact on the game.
Dunfermline take the points for the match with a very disappointing performance from Queen’s Park.
(Note: my apologies for the lack of report here. There’s not an awful lot I remember from the game. Regardless I hope you enjoyed the video!)
