Toughsheet Community Stadium: Bolton Wanderers 3-0 Lincoln City (Saturday 5th August 2023)

For the opening day of the 2023/24 season, I travel down to Bolton for their fixture with Lincoln City.
After losing out in the play offs last season, Wanderers were looking to open the season brightly once again under Ian Evatt.
For Lincoln, after a modest 11th place in the league they likewise were looking for a good start to the season under Mark Kennedy albeit away to a tough side.
Bolton were fairly dominant throughout the whole game and reduced Lincoln to fairly little. They looked calm in possession and we’re always looking to create something promising. I enjoyed this aspect of Bolton’s play and it was very attractive to watch.
One of the standouts in this game was Ricardo Santos at Centre Back, he cut out a lot of any danger Lincoln provided and was very composed on the ball after retaining possession.
