If the satellites were following the equator and travellling 14,000km/hr faster than Earth then the adjustment of the ground clocks of 38 microseconds would be understandable. However, the satellites travel in a helical pattern relative to the Earth's surface, and as the Earth speed varies between the pole and the equator distance/time=speed (in other words the equator travels faster than the poles) then the time difference would vary. Thus, how are time adjustments done to the ground station?

+Nicholas Heidl The inaccuracy of the receiver clock would be a much bigger effect than the relativistic effect due to the Earth's surface speed variation. This is why a fourth satellite is needed - to synchronize the receiver's clock.

The Earth speed is irreverent as the Atomic Clock in Boulder is what all the satellites are based on. It's from that time the general and special relativity are based

okay, sattelites sends signal to GPS receiver in my phone. They tell what time this signal were sent. So my phone calculates the distance to them by using time? But it need their time and current time. There is atomic clock in phone too or what?

This explanation about "triangulation", "trilateration" and spheres is completely wrong. It's a shame for "theoretical physics institute"...
You can search google images for hyperbola navigation to see how it works WITHOUT knowing correct time.

i think we need to know how the electronic device identify the least three difference satellites while as you know, the rf wave is transmitted parallel between these satellite. However,to answer your question, the gps satellites send their time which has been synced and you just need to compare the time values to know what satellite is nearest...etc

+lânchánđời nguyễn the satellites were in a same place and sync setting.whenever you receive the gps,you will get the difference time because they are in difference positions.
