I love this song. I didn't get mad, I just think you deserve to hear the whole song with ear buds or headphones. It is so rich and textured. Thank you for coming back around. this song came out in 1975 and Live Aid was 1985 so 10 years between the two. Brian May is my favorite guitar player. This was the era of Glam Rock. Rockers wore makeup and costumes.
It's like 3 different songs because that's exactly what it is, Freddie was working on 3 songs which he couldn't seem to finish and one day he thought sod it I'll mash them all together and you end up with this masterpiece, he really was a genius.
Btw. At the beginning you see Bassist John Deacon on the left, Drummer Roger Taylor on the right, Up is Guitarist Sir Brian May. But as said in a comment before, Freddie did all voices in the Studio on his own on 36 tracks, it's said so. Eventough Taylor and May have incredible voices.
This was released on the 31st. Of October 1975. 50 years old this year.
Bohemian Rhapsody turns 50 on October 31 2025. I was already a Queen fan when it was released 👑
Solo una leggenda come Freddie poteva creare questo capolavoro nel 1975 ❤️ I still love you Freddie ❤️
Ciao 🤘🎸👍
A rhapsody is a piece of music where it doesn’t repeat parts
Freddie had 3 unfinished songs and then he put them together into this masterpiece. The recording process of the song took a very long time because of Freddie's and Brian's perfectionism, but the video which was the first promotional music video in the history, was completed in a few hours. You can find more similarly structured songs in their huge and versatile catalog.
Masterpiece from 1975, so Freddie was just 29 years old on this video i believe
This song was one of the greatest things in 1975. The satin clothing, the bad hairstyles…not so much. There are 3 things from this video that have not changed much, if at all…Brian’s hair, the Red Special (Brian’s guitar) and our love for this masterpiece ❤
Your correct Live aid was this was 75. It was the first creative music video made ,designed by Freddie because he wrote it.
Roger and Brian have hinted this is about him accepting his sexuality. They performed this at every concert since 75,I believe the views on UA-cam is over 1-9 billion.
You're right. Live Aid was in 86 and BR is from 1975. At that time, the glam aesthetic was in fashion in the world of rock. Ambivalent sexuality, satin and shiny clothes, makeup, accessories... In Live Aid Freddie has a macho gay look, with short hair and a moustache.
Excellent reaction Harnoor, congratulations on watching the entire music video this time! This song was released in October 31, 1975. Ten years before the 1985 Live Aid concert. It appears their 4th album "A Night at the Opera" Yes, they all do look different back in the 1970's the hair was worn long in those years, and they were fairly new to the music industry. they were a lot younger here so Freddie is the lead singer and Brian May lead guitar and vocals, John Deacon Bassist, and Roger Taylor Drummer and vocals and his high falsetto singing voice in this song.
You are correct Harnoor, auto tune was not invented yet, just pure raw talent from these four intelligent, legendary musicians! Freddie is front and center in the intro of the song. This was Freddie before he grew a mustache.
Like I mentioned in your last video of Live Aid, it was a shortened version, now here 7:12 this is the 2nd part you didn't get to see in the Live Aid concert, and then here 8:50 is third part you missed too.
To answer your question 8:21 yes, they did this very often in their songs, they wanted to be different, not all their songs are the same, they did not want to be the typical cookie cutter rock and roll band, this is why they could not be put into just one genre, they were all over the genre spectrum and they succeeded in being a different legendary rock band.
I am so happy for you reacting to this video, I am glad you enjoyed it as much as we did and still do! Peace. ☮
Expect the unexpected when it comes to Queen. Always great and inventive, ground-breaking, multi-genred. And absoluely genuis and fabulously great, Freddie wa 29 hrre. They started while stull in college, in 1970. Thank you for a great reaction.
This song is considered the greatest rock song of all time by many. The video was the first to be made that told the story of a song to use for marketing a song worldwide. It paved the way for tv channels like MTV. It took 3 weeks and 4 studios just to record the operatic section and 180 overdubs. They did so many overdubs of the vocals that you could see through the tape. I don’t know if you picked up on the panning through your headphones where the vocals and instruments pan from ear to the other. That is why you must always wear headphones when listening to their studio/video recordings. This was from 1975 and their outfits were pretty much what bands in glam rock wore. If you want to hear a great example of their panning react to Ride the Wild Wind.
Worth reacting to. It has 1.9 Billion views.
This track was from an album titled "A Night at the Opera" 🙂
freddie changed his looks occassionally but yes his mustache is the most famous. fun fact, when he first grew it fans threw razors on stage signaling they hated it...but it grew on them. he did eventually shaved it towards the end of his life.
the song came out in 75. 10 years before live aid
Yes! Great reaction! Your journey down the Queen path cannot be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody. In fact, your journey into great MUSIC of the past cannot be complete without Bohemian Rhapsody!
Bohemian Rhapsody, was released in 1975 on the album "A Night at the Opera" which gives a hint as to the musical genre. Freddie Mercury was a huge fan of opera so this song was written as an operatic suite consisting of five distinct parts: an acapella intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock section, and a reflective coda. Generally it is classified as rock-and-roll, but specifically as a "rock opera" and "progressive rock." Truth is, labeling any Queen song, or Queen the band, is next to impossible!
"Bohemian" describes an unconventional, artistic style with freedom and individuality as key elements. "Rhapsody" in musical composition refers to a single work comprised of episodic, diverse pieces arranged into a free-flowing structure designed to heighten emotions. This song came to be because Freddie had pieces of songs he never completed, so he put them together, each section totally different yet masterfully blended into a truly epic masterpiece. It is the band's magnum opus, and is unanimously considered one of the best songs ever written.
As for the meaning of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", Freddie was purposefully vague. As with most of the greatest songs, the lyrics are written to be poetic and mysterious. Are they literal or figurative? As separate pieces initially, should the song have a singular meaning? Who knows! The meaning is open to interpretation for each listener to decide, based on how the music and lyrics touched them. You will read comments claiming the song's meaning, but the fact is, the entire band has never stating a specific meaning and has been firm that there isn't one, or if Freddie DID have a specific interpretation, he never shared it. Any assertion of the meaning pertaining to Freddie's sexuality are speculative and pushed by certain groups who WANT that to be the meaning. Those people insist one’s sexual preference is the main, if not the only, defining factor to everything one does in life, and therefore Freddie’s artistic talent is secondary and subjective to who he found attractive. This is ludicrous and insulting to one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time.
Ray Foster: It goes on forever, 6 bloody minutes
Freddie Merucry: I pitty your wife if you think 6 minutes is forever
(from movie biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" 2018)
about damn time you react to whole song. most do Bohemian Rhapsody as their first song into queen. its considered the most important rock song ever
You need to do reaction - Queen - "killer queen", "stone cold crazy"
wow, great reaction! this song is an Opera
Live Aid was about 10 years after this video, the song goes from a Ballad, then opera to rock then back to ballad for the ending.
If you want to see it done in a different way, check out the Corridor Crew drama version.

you still need to react to:
Love of my life (all are live...but best feel is live. I like Rio most)
Under Pressure (due to Ice Ice Baby)
Who wants to live forever (one of the few songs freddie didnt lead sing to. Brian May did most singing. was written for the movie Highlander which they wrote the entire soundtrack)
I want to break free (great song, but funny music video)
Dont stop me now
Flash Gordon
Three songs in one. Exactly. Now you know what a rhapsody is. I would hope that no one was mad at you for your choice. Just some helpful advice, I'm sure. 🤘😎❤
Freddie did an entire opera album with Montserrat Caballe called Barcelona. You should delve into that if you want a different perspective of Freddie. Monsty was a very close friend and the videos of Barcelona and Golden Boy are not to be missed.
I thought that you had a great honest first-time reaction to this song…. and to Freddie’s long hair too 😂. Queen covered many genres over the 20 years from 1971 until 1991…..Freddie even sang live on stage with opera great Montserrat Caballe’ in 1988….which was absolutely fabulous. I think you should continue to react to some of their earlier ‘long hair’ songs….. like “White Queen” live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975 and “Liar” live at Rainbow 1974…… and many more. Then move onto the ‘short hair with a mustache’ in the 1980’s….. you have a very long ways to go. Thank you so much 💕.
Don't stop the song on the best passages, please!!!!
The a cappella intro is Freddie alone, harmonizing with himself.
Auto-tune was introduced around 20 years later and It's a damn shame that listeners now must question every vocal performance's authenticity because of it. I lost interest in "new" music 20-25 years ago. What'd I miss?
Check your mirror in ten years, my friend, lol.
👑
No one had ever heard anything like this before. Or since.
It's not classical, it's opera
this was released 1975
Excellent reaction
Please check out Bohemian Rhapsody live Montreal
Thank you
Omg, stop go stop go and one of the great masterpieces of all time!! You spent a lot of time talking his clothes, hair, nail polish. And stopping right at the climax of the song.. I bet you don't even know any of the lyrics.. sorry young man but it's not my cup of tea.. good luck with your channel.😊
Dude, you really need to watch the bio pic movie, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, starring Rami Malik, from 2018.
You talk way to much just do us all a favour and listen to the song
The intro is ALL FREDDIE SINGING
