Hello Dietrich,, good memories of the past and what an amazing place to fish and worth the long walk,Thanks for a great trip, thumbs up and greetings to all,, Tony.
Thank you, Tony. Still dreaming of that day and all the impressions it gave me. Surely a day to remember. Alas, the season is more or less over now and we are looking already forward to the next one. I think they call that "Tempus Fugit". Have a good time and lots of greetings, Dietrich.
Well done you two boyos. That was some hike. A pint must have tasted soooo good! Such a wild and unspoilt place, only in the Donegal Bluestacks. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Lucky for you it was bright and sunny with a decent breeze. I can only imagine what the midges would be like up there on a still day at the right time of the year..... I often wonder how on earth fish came to populate such remote and elevated locations as these, nature is amazing.
Thank you, Richard. There are surely amazing places up in the Blue Stacks, and usually in every little pond or stream trout can be found, not so however in "The Kingdom of Durko", everything looks so fishy but no fish there at all. Take care and all the best, Dietrich.
That's right, Cuan. There are two more, similar, places in the Blue Stacks, not quite as remote, but still a good bit away from habitation; and they both hold fish, definitely. Shall we go there next season?
Congratulations Dietrich for a wonderful video, I must say your pictures of the beautiful landscape are a pleasure to watch. How I envy you, and wish I could physically follow the same trail ,but i'm afraid it's not to be. so it's a great big THANK YOU for sharing such a wonderful trip. Heres to your next outing. Take care. Dave Mac.
Thank you, Dave and thank you for watching. It was a hike surely and we were both happy when back at the car; another unforgetable day. And that pint afterwards was one of the best ones ever. All the best and take care, Dietrich.
That was some hike lads - well done. Amazing how some lakes have no takes and another one nearby has doubles at each cast. Enjoyed the video - keep them coming.
Thank you, John. Some publications claim that system holds trout, but as the farmer at the bottom told us: no fish in that lake, if you should catch one I'll give you a reward. In these last 40 years or so I fished most of the 70 lakes or so up there in the Blue Stacks and only half of them actually hold trout. Next season we'll be somewhere up there again, definitely. Cheers.
You're a better man than me Dierich! I'm 63, next January and really starting to feel it now after a long walk. I reckon I might have ten seasons left in me if I'm lucky..
I thought I was watching a Halloween movie there. Lol. Looks like an amazing place. Not many weeks left in the season. Thanks for great clips all season.
Another fine day in Ireland has shown us the secret of your youth Dietrich, those long trek's into the Donegal country side, well in this case a long climb up close to where God himself wets a line. Keeps you young and fit and once you have made it back down you top it off with the nectar of the gods a fine Irish pint. Well done Dietrich now gets some rest young man.
Thank you, Jim. Love to hear that "young man" bit; just lovely. The season is more or less over and then there'll be enough time over the winter to rest, tie flies and dream of next seasons adventures. Have a good time and cheers.
Normally when I watch your trout videos I think "How can there be nobody else fishing in such a beautiful place stuffed with fish?" This time I think I know the answer already!
Well, the Donegal mountain lakes are definitely not "overfished" and we didn't come across any signs of angling during that perticular excursion. And I had the feeling: the last people who fished here were Ray and I in 1991. Thank you for watching, sir and all the best.
That's right. When Ross comes home without a fish, Hannah asks him: have you been fishing with Dietrich? So, I have a reputation now and wait until you come to Donegal.🙂
We went up above Lough Eske to the Blue Stack Montain crash site of a ww2 crashed plane, after a couple of hours climb, we were amazed to see two men up at the top, with tractor tailor, quad, and a monster of a digger on top of the Mountain, don't be amazed if these folk start to drain these lakes, no machine should be up there at all.
Ihr seid unglaublich toll. Ich bin stolz auf dich und die unglaublich schönen Filme.
Vielen Dank, Iris. Freut mich wirklich, daß Dir unsere kleinen Filmchen gefallen.
Dietrich and Ross that is the best fishing in the world ..Thanks a million...
Thank you, Gary. We definitely felt like being on top of the world, like.

Wow!
Mighty stuff. Especially the hallucinations. Quite like the end of 2001 a space odyssey....
That's right, Cuan. There are two more, similar, places in the Blue Stacks, not quite as remote, but still a good bit away from habitation; and they both hold fish, definitely. Shall we go there next season?
The falls amazeing no salmon up above that
Amazingly no fish at all above the falls.
What a beautiful place, and what a great fishing adventure. I hope the young fellas do not wear out following you around 🍺 cheers
Thank you, David. Quite a hike it was and we are glad to have done it. One of those days you'll never forget. All the best.

Thank you, sir. Yes, 32 years on and, more or less, nothing has changed. May it stay like that forever. Greetings and thank you for watching.
I thought I was watching a Halloween movie there. Lol. Looks like an amazing place. Not many weeks left in the season. Thanks for great clips all season.
Thank you, Mr. Martin. That's right, the season'll be over very soon now; and we are dreaming already of the next one. Tempus Fugit.

That's exactly the feeling I had when up there, Martin.
Spectacular place amazing. Well worth the walk on. Keep doing it making great videos.
Thank you, Vincent. Surely an amazing place; something that gives you nice dreams at night. Have a good time and all the best from Donegal.

Amazeing love to see it looks so untouched
Tha's right, Martin. You had the feeling no man was there before, like. All the best and cheers.

Thank you, sir. And we were glad to get back to the car, unharmed. All the best and take care.
A pint 🍺 well deserved gentlemen…
That's righ, Stiofain. And badly needed.
As I was watching this film I thought these two boys will be ready for a pint or two at the end of it.I wasn’t, wrong😀
Or, as the man says: badly needed and well deserved. Thank you for watching and cheers.

Wet windy day it'd be like being in the remotest place on earth
That's right.
Kingdom of Durko! The whole world seems like the Kingdom of Durko these days....
You have a point there, Henry. Thank you for watching and all the best.
Sorry got my spelling wrong enjoyed the kingdom of durko.. portugese beer
The Portugese beer, dangerous stuff, sir.🙂
More abysmal guiding!! 😂
That's right. When Ross comes home without a fish, Hannah asks him: have you been fishing with Dietrich? So, I have a reputation now and wait until you come to Donegal.🙂
Hast Dir Heimarbeit mit nach Hause genommen 😂
Mensch Dietrich das war ja noch schöner alls unsere bergtour! Grüße Werner 😅
