Brilliant Video ...... finally someone explains the mechanics of casting understandable and the different concepts of how to apply this to a cast ..... again absolutely brilliant and thanks for it
The segment between 28 minutes and 90 minutes is loaded with great ideas! I had been intrigued by John's contributions to the board on Sexyloops but the video presents his ideas with much more clarity. I'm eager to take my rod out onto the casting field and try some of John's many good suggestions. Thank you so much for making this video available.
Thanks for making videos such as this available. Ideas are valuable and sharing them prompts others to question their own conventional wisdom. I will need to take notes as I view the videos again. I would like to see a video of John casting and utilizing some of his techniques. Is that in the works ?
I found two UA-cam videos of John doing casting instruction that were posted nine years ago. I wonder what would change based upon his latest thinking about casting.
That video posted by Tim is an arm centric, linear focused casting movement Philip. I would place much more emphasis now on rotational movement to generate hand and line speed.

I think that’s an excellent idea. Next time I get together with John I would like to try in the casting field/ roof of the boat.

I can not understand why body rotation is brought into flyfishing casting at all, and what javelin casting has to add to flyfishing casting...
