Player Piano Mechanism - won’t play

    Hey there! I know it's been over a year since you posted this video, but I thought that you'd at least like some closure to this case. Seems to me that the player mechanism needs to be restored. Since some notes are playing, that would indicate that the vacuum is getting to the stack so it is probably a combination of many leaks and the old cloth and leather having deteriorated over the years. At first, I thought maybe the switch that gives suction to the stack might have been broken since I didn't see any of the keys moving, but once a few did, I'm pretty sure the issue is simply that it is just really old and needs some love.
    After looking over the footage again several times, I'm now noticing that it might have been you playing the keyboard and not the scroll triggering the keys to play. Over all, your best bet would be to look into getting a professional restoration done on the internal player mechanism of this piano. The price isn't cheap, so I'd only do it if this piano is really important to you and/or your family. From someone who restores these machines, I wish you the best of luck!
