Ok if we ever get Sonic Adventure 3 / Sonic Heroes 2 I want a Metal Sonic story where he is trying to hunt Sonic down, but learns morality or something thanks to Gemerl (One from the good ending where he lives with Cream) who he encounters at the beginning possibly alongside a revived Gamma. Don't lie, Team Metal would be awesome.

Man, Metal is such a b**ch to fight. All of his attacks do crazy damage, Almost all of them can break your barriers AND GOD FORBID HE USES HIS GRAB. Not to mention that god damn drill attack and the plasma laser.

The Egg Fleet and Coastal track sets cater more towards the newer games, thus their songs come more from Sonic Rush, the Adventure series, and Sonic Heroes (as well as a shout out to Sonic R due to it being Sonic's latest race outing before this game). The Death Egg is an area taken straight out of the genesis era with a different vibe, so it must have felt much more fitting to use less known songs.

Guys, the strategy is to distract yourself from the fight to win! You can do what I do and bop to the music and just keep attacking, or talk to somebody else with your eyes unfocused. I think it helps because you don’t worry yourself. Also expect to lose, the world works in your favor when you do that.
@mobilecane Y'know, since they weren't doing remixes for this game, so Genesis songs wouldn't have flowed with the game's style. Songs straight out of left field for a stage straight out of left field.
