I love how even since the beginning, Metal Sonic has these intense relentless techno beats that contrasts against the style of Sonic's theme. While Sonic is confident in his many characteristics: brave, caring, free, impatient, heroic, comedic, Metal is single-minded in his mission to beat Sonic, he has no identity as long as Sonic lives. He can never let it go.

Most games, especially arcade, hit a point where they become extremely difficult, and I lose interest in trying anymore. Metal Sonic, however, is a great fight that challenges me in just the right way.
Screwattack said this game can be beaten by simply mashing 1 button over and over. They clearly were lying and hadn't played the game long enough to reach Metal Sonic to know thats a load of bullshit since Metal cannot be defeated by mashing buttons and actually requires strategy.
Good!, I'm currently thinking of ideas of a space fight between Classic Super Sonic and Metal Sonic, while in space they'll be continuously traveling through Dimensions using the power of the Phantom Ruby as they try to get it from one each other, the Dimensions include, Sonic 1 Up to whatever the current game title is, meaning they go through all of these Dimensions there styles will change to match, from Sprites to Models to even something maybe hand drawn although that may be a bit much for me to handle, it will take a few years to make because i have to correctly replicate each of the games styles and animation types, so it'll be taking a long time to make but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end!
Sorry for so much writing, i was just trying to explain whats going on but i never expected it to be so long until i sent the comment, but luckily as long as i understand whats going on it'll be all good, aswell as easy to understand once I've finished the Animation, hopefully this comment helped with the last comment. :)
My Headcanon Metal Sonic: I have beef with Sonic, I wanna help my creator take over the world and take Sonic's throne, I'm still mad that he beat me in Stardust Speedway to this very day, I usually do break ins and armed robberies, I have anger issues, I constantly wanna rematch him in a race/fight whenever Eggman has a plan, when we have to set our differences aside, I tend to have this stank attitude with Sonic and Co.
i agree. i came back to hear the "sonic vs knuckles" ost but i found out almost the whole soundtrack is filled with bangers. Definitely a underrated soundtrack
And that is where I gotta disagree with you buckeru. Metal Sonic is so perfect, because he ISN'T just a killing machine. He is shown time and time again to have many emotions outside of kill. Best visible in the comics. He has his own little mini story in one of the issue's and, well he isn't just going out to kill. While he is walking, you can see his feelings in his body language and silence. That is why I love Metal, he may be a killing machine on the outside, yet a machine with a tainted soul, yet still a soul on the inside
Not even gonna lie, this fight is fun as hell. It's hard, for sure, but it's not unfair. Just a frenetic brawl against sonic's biggest rival (at the time), and the music nails that vibe 👍
The fact his "grab-and-launch" move can take out a good chunk of your health, which he often uses when you have a pretty low health always made me rage quit as a child.
I think the reason I loved this game compared to so many other fighting games is that metal constantly kicked my ass, like I would beat him, come back in another playthrough, think I can win, and then IMMEDIATELY get my teeth kicked in Metal was a constant challenge, no matter how often you played this game
Easily the best track in the game if you ask me. Sonic The Fighters may not be the best fighting game starring the Blue Blur (especially when compared to the fangame Sonic Smackdown), but it still had a great soundtrack just like most other games in the franchise!
There is nothing more satisfying than managing to corner this asshole and beat the crap out of him after countless losses. He's so OP, but that just makes defeating him feel even better.

Never let it go & For true story ...they both have this metalic ring to it in the music, even if the latter is about Shadow vs Sonic, I just think it's Iconic and it would've fit for Metal sonic too.
The fact Metal can end the fight as soon as it starts by picking you up and then lasering you right as soon as he's allowed to move will always be infuriating and hilarious
When I listen to this music, I see flames and metal sonic emerging from said flames, it seems hopeless. But then, Sonic challenges the faker and uses the emeralds to go super and defeat metal sonic. Sonic still has hope, and he will *Never Let it Go*.
Classic Metal Sonic: "Mr. Lube, you're my only friend." Present Metal Sonic: "The... fight didn't go so well, huh?" Classic Metal Sonic: "No. I ran out of juice at the end of the fight. And I missed the hedgehog. Then I got beat up. Afterward, Robotnik took me aside. He told me to let it go. I don't know, he's probably right." Present Metal Sonic: "No! Everyone will tell you to let it go and move on, but don't! Instead, let it fester and boil inside of you! Take these feelings and lock them away. Let them fuel your actions. Let hate be your ally, and you will be capable of wonderful, horrid things. Heed my words, Metal: 'don't' let it go."
