I am so glad your back. I really like you guys. I found you, went back watched every episode. Then kept up to date from there. Dont intended to miss any of the new ones. I watched because of you two. Not the camera guy. Take care, keep pressing on. Your great!

Good comment, I agree. No offence to the previous camera guy but, from what I saw on the previous video, the replacement is rather easier on the eye.😁

Hay Lance, Glad y'all are still kickin'
Thought I'd share some VW knowledge I learned back in the 70's while working for Mays Foreign car, Tyler Tx. Most all VW's from the late 50's up to the late 70's had a problem with the ignition wires running the long way from the key switch to the starter solenoid and coil...Remedy for this was to run heaver gauge wire to both the coil and the starter solenoid from the switch...In the mean time just run a wire with alligator clips from battery to coil + and jump the starter with a screwdriver...If you use a multi meter turn to DC volts and check voltage at secondary lead at solenoid...Must be a full 12V to kick the solenoid...a simple test light is good for testing coil voltage too...

Had a 63 metro, 13 ft, 220 c.i. 6 cyl, 3 on the tree. Paid $25 for it in the early 80s to the native Americans that owned it. They'd bought it used mid 60s, converted it, and 5 of them toured around after Jane fonda with a 16mm movie camera, filming her at the nuclear power plant protests she was speaking at. Pistons were huge, and slapping around in the cylinders. Shimmed the rings and bearings with parts I cut from steel soup cans, got it running, ran the alleys of Venice, California for a while, collecting tourist move in/move out trash for sale at flea markets. Lived in that van for 7 years. Van was in the local paper a number of times while I had it, including one article which had a half page photo of it and my Torino station wagon,, titled "Venice Menace". A phase of my life, long ago.

Before the split I was interested in what the future held for the strange looking double duty. I am relieved it is still part of your collection. The filming is well done now and the music is not too intrusive. So its all good

Looking forward to it. I used to deliver milk back in the mid-80s. In Denver we still have Royal Crest Dairy. I drove a '62 DIVCO and it drove like a top even in 1985.

You might need a hard start relay on that Volkswagen thing. We've seen that as they age the wiring gets old and the resistance builds up. So it might not be that your stars that it's just that the juice has to get from the battery all the way to the ignition and then back to the starter solenoid and that trip is sometimes just too long a distance with the new resistance from over time. A hard start relay bypass is that link that makes it much easier to start. We have a UA-cam video on hard start relays

As you move forward with your channel, I'd like to suggest that you give us a series of episodes on restoring each of the vehicles you either have or find. The name of the channel tells it all... Restored. I really enjoyed watching you restore that Mighty Metro, so please give us more of that same. Thanks

My dad was a milkman since the mid 1950's. When he retired in the early 1980's I took over the business. I can tell ya.. that Metro ain't no milk truck. Other than the fact that most milk trucks are build on a 5 ton frame, and that's no 5 ton frame, there's no "wall" to prevent the milk crates from sliding forward when you hit the brakes. That thing would be a death trap if used as a milk truck. I had a '63 IH Metro that I lived in a few years. It had a slant-4 196 (half a 392 v-8), 3 speed crash box (no syncro in any gear), and would go places 4-wheel drives would have a hard time following me. Mine was a flower delivery truck before I got it. If you want a real iconic milk truck, get a Divco.

When I was in high school the woods used to be full of old metros. Could pick'em up cheap or for free. Bet that IH id plate says model AM120. That dash started with the A series about 1958 and went on into the '60s. Friend had a '63 IH p/u with the same dash. I used to have a long wheelbase AM120 metro. Had 17.5 inch tubeless tires, borg Warner auto trans. Hope you get it going and can keep original drivetrain. They where slow, but tough.
