What a wonderful class Swamiji! I agree that Satsanga is a most important spiritual practice, as you've said where would we be without it. Personally it is like a corner stone for me, so, so important and inspiring. I can also relate to Swamiji's perception of Bhagavata Purana. I had to work very hard on my Bhakti, coming from Jean Paul Sartre, Albert Camus and existentialism, it took me decades to fully accept Advaita Vedanta. From Dusanga to Satsanga. I am deeply grateful to God's Grace which brought me where I am today. Thank you humbly Swamiji! 🙏

Hello friend 🙏What would you say was the biggest thing about existentialism that held Bhakti back for you?

@@dangem5022 Hi again. Hope you are well. Basically existentialism denies God and by that Life itself. They are bunch of guys stuck in their own warped heads chasing themselves in circles, like a dog trying to catch his own tail. Blessings to you. 🙏

Thanks to my SANSKRIT teacher, now at 86+ i still remember how some of the messages (also thru stories) in our puranas and sacred texts find similar operational "principles " incl a kind of toolkit suitalble even for life conduct in the 21st century, ALSO in the Tamil THIRUKURAL wisdom couplets. Pranams to Swami ji for relating the old wisdom to present day life.

Without the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, love for the Lord does not well up; without this love, Your devotional worship cannot be performed.
Says Kabeer, now what more can I say?
    ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੈ ਆਹਿ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੬॥
    साधसंगति बैकुंठै आहि ॥४॥८॥१६॥
The Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is heaven itself. ||4||8||16||

42:00 - Swamiji, what if good people do not want to associate with me? How to resolve 🤣🤣🤣
    Kidding aside.
51:00 - Swamiji recommends a very practical solution to counteract the "daily hustle" of life that many of us are in.
13:37 - It caught my attention when Swamiji said Bhakti is the same as Karma Yoga. Like how am I going to feel Ishwara's divine presence when I am looking at car bumpers during traffic? 🤣 He says that one may not be thinking about it but he/she definitely has not escaped Ishwara's presence. Thought about it and figured this is the rational mind fending off the open and accepting approach of Bhakti. It is what it is but then I ask what can gain from developing this acceptance? It made me imagine feeling extremely light even while doing the most mundane task there is just as if you are still in front of an altar. Hey, not too bad! Very pragmatic use indeed 🙏

It isn't that the stories are so simple for a simple minded person Or is it that swami is too rational. Rationalizing, explaining, and justifying everything. If you surrender your conditioning you would be able to see the truth in the stories. Not everything needs a story that you imposed on it. At some point studying for its own sake is fruitless.
